Off Site Meeting

Sorry to go MIA this morning. I had an offsite meeting that lasted the majority of the morning, but I promise I’m back now. 🙂

The offsite meeting did not start until 9:00, which meant I was able to sleep in a little this morning (Yay!). It felt so strange to actually have the sun rise in the middle of my run, its been way too long since that last occurred.

My run was a short one: 3 miles + 5×100 Strides. All completed in 30 minutes with some crunches and pushes to round out the work out.

After my shower, I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast while catching up on The Today Show.

  • ½ cup Kashi Go Lean
  • ½ cup TJs Strawberry Yogurt Os
  • ¼ cup Meg’s Tropical Jammin Mix 
  • ½ container Vanilla Oikos (so bummed I couldn’t find plain at the 2 different Publix Supermarkets I went to!)
  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Blackberries

My bowl of fresh berries reminded me of summer. The excessive heat and sunshine reminded me of summer too. 😉

On my way to the meeting I couldn’t resist stopping at a Starbucks and treating myself to a Non-Fat Awake Tea Latte with 1.5 pumps of Pumpkin Spice.

The only problem was my body is not used to caffeine at all. As I was drinking this I felt jittery and very chatty. I could feel my heart fluttering and my fingers shaking. In fact I still feel like I am on caffeine overload. I think I need to stick to the less potent plain ole black tea for every day function and  rely on my addicting Awake Tea only when I desperately need a boost .

Lunch today was simple heated up leftovers.

Last month’s Chili froze beautifully and after a quick zap in the microwave tasted just as fresh as it had previously.

However, I will admit the homemade cornbread got a little freezer burn.

However, that did not stop it from being a great utensil for chili dipping.

This meal was great, but a little warm to eat in the current heat wave. I had my AC on full blast the whole way back to the office. 🙂

Caffeine does the same to me. This makes me want some cornbread for dinner!

the only thing wrong about your latte is your name is spelt wrong 😉 i can’t believe that chili and cornbread are from last month and they still look great to eat!

That breakfast looks divine. I love strawberries so much. 🙂

I can’t handle caffeine. I mean, it’s good when I need a boost but I have to drink it when I wake up because it takes SO LONG to hit me. Like, some hours. True facts.

My body isn’t used to caffeine either. I hardly drink the stuff and when I do I feel like The Hulk (but in a less scary way, of course) 🙂

I can’t handle the caffeine either, I end up feeling like I need to run the halls! Most of my tea is caffeine free 🙂 And AC in the car sounds nice- there was frost here this morning.

My body has never been effected by caffiene. I could drink cups and cups of coffee before bed and would be able to sleep like a baby!

I drink two cups of coffee a day. One in the morning before I workout and one around 11 at work. I switched to decaf for my 11am cup and I’ve started sleeping better at night. I never thought caffeine really affected me as much as it does. Hope the jitters go away soon!

I love freezing food. It is then so easy to eat something healthy when time is short. I also love all your meals this week.

I can’t handle too much caffeine too. It makes me jittery & anxious. When I go to Starbucks I just order my drink 1/2 caf. It doesn’t change the taste & I feel great!

I get the caffeine shakes if I haven’t had it in a while, either! I love those tea lattes, though. Super easy to make yourself, too! Just heat milk, and let your tea bag steep in it. Perfect, and great with chai tea bags.

Caffeine doesn’t SEEM to affect me at all, and I used to drink 2-3 cups a day, but I’ve fully stopped now because I don’t want to cause and health damage. And also, I don’t want a caffeine addiction!

Caffeine doesn’t really effect me unless I have too little. Then it’s totally bad news bears!

my body doesnt love caffeine either. too bad i love starbucks iced chai soys. but i too only save it for those days where i need a pick me up.

When I read “last month’s chili” at first I thought I read it wrong. But seriously, what a great idea. Im pretty good at freezing breads and meats, but I’ve never done leftover chili or soups. Thanks for the great idea!!

Do you normally drink black tea that is specifically decaf? If not, you’re still getting caffeine from it. That’s what the Awake tea is, a blend of black teas, just a bold blend!

Ditto on what Rachel in NC said. The awake tea is just plain ole’ black tea with a fancy name 😛 I do find tea makes me a lot more jittery than regular coffee though. Apparently it’s a different kind of caffeine? I almost ordered that same drink the other day and chickened out… soon! 🙂

There have been times where caffeine has done that to me too. but those are only day’s when i have more then my usual in the morning. I hate it when it happens though, because i feel so odd for the rest of the day!

I’ve gotten used to caffeine again since I’ve been here in Japan. I drink tea every morning and when I work in the mornings I have some coffee, too. I’m very much not a morning person and need the help!

I Love leftovers, nothing easier!
I also tend to get jittery and chatty when I have caffeine, tea I can usually handle ok, but coffee turns me into a freak lol!

I love the Awake tea, I haven’t had it in forever. I have a Barnes & Noble (aka Starbucks) date with a friend on Friday so I think I’ll get it then 😉

I should be okay with the caffeine, it only gets me if I have more than 1 cup of coffee back to back. Haha.
