Is there anything more pitiful then a drugged post-op puppy with a cone on her head?
Poor thing has been so disoriented and confused since I brought her home. I put her on the floor and she just stood there. I tried to take her on a walk outside and she wouldn’t budge. I put her on the couch and she just stared at me. Pitiful.
I am happy to report that the vet told me the operation was a success. Everything went as planned and she should be fully recovered in a couple weeks. In the mean time she has to wear the cone collar and is not allowed to play, jump or have any fun at all. Poor thing.
Maddie is also not allowed to have anything to eat until tomorrow, which made it very difficult to eat my delicious dinner right in front of her.
I topped a costco salmon burger with this Cranberry Apple Sauce I stole from my parent’s the other week.
The cranberry sauce reminded me of fall and the approaching change of seasons. It was perfect on my burger.
On the side I had some roasted Name with Ketchup.
For dessert I had a Praline Merci Chocolate.
Maddie is currently staring off into space with a dazed and confused look. I think its time to put my little princess to bed.
Good night!
That almost brings tears to my eyes π Poor (ADORABLE) puppy. I shall say a prayer for the poor pup, Maddie looks miserable π
Poor lil girl! Feel better soon, Maddie!
My Jack had a very traumatic vet appointment today too π I feel so bad, he has an ear and bladder infection!
aw, so sad! She looks so sad that she can’t play – I’m glad everything went well with her today!
Poor little girl! At least she will get lots of cuddles!
AWww! I remember – I seriously wanted to cry the night I brought Lando home from her surgery! They just look so sad! Maddie will be back to her sweet little self tomorrow I’m sure! Have a good night my dear!
Aww, poor puppy!
Where do you get all this amazing-looking chocolate?
Aww poor Maddie! But I have to admit, I laughed out loud when I saw the first pic. Something about a dog with a cone on its heads makes me giggle a little. She will be back to her playful puppy self soon!
Oh my gosh, Maddie is so precious! I hope she recovers from her big day soon!
Can I just tell you that this idea with the salmon burger and apple/cran relish is superb! I actually have a salmon burger in the freezer and a jar of Apple/Cran chutney so, looks like I have a new dinner inspiration next week. Yum! π
Glad everything went well with Maddie’s procedure!
These are the saddest pictures of all time! (And the cutest, but I don’t know why I find her pitiful face so cute!)
Glad to hear everything went okay! And I’m jealous of your chocolate! I love pralines in chocolate!
Aww! Her eyes look so sad, but I’m sure she’ll be back to her old self soon. At least Maddie had a vacation before she went in.
Aww, poor Maddie. I hope she feels better soon! Pups in recovery are tough!
Aww dear Maddie!! π
Awwww she does look very pitiful. So sad, but I know you’re taking good care of her.
She looks so pitiful! Poor baby! Hope she has a speedy recovery!
Aw poor pup. π Hope she is back to herself soon.
awww, feel better Maddie! She looks so pitiful π
awww poor Maddie… I hope she feels better soon!! SAD FACE π
hehe sooooo precious!! it reminds me of “david after the dentist”
Aw, poor little Maddie! I hope she feels better soon.
Aww poor puppy :(( Can she have a bone?! Im sure that would cheer her up!
Awww poor puppy!
She is so cute! Don’t worry she’ll be back to herself in no time. My first dog never caught on to the cone and constantly ran into things (she was sweet, but not too bright). My current dog didn’t even seem to care about the cone. Good luck.
Happy healing Maddie! Your salmon burger looks sooo good.
I’m so glad that she is ok! She looks so pitiful and confused…hope she feels better soon!
Feel better Maddie! I’m glad everything went well!
Aww!! Poor baby π They used to put those cones on my cats to stop them from scratching or after any kind of surgery involving stitches. It’s so sad ;(
Why can’t she eat until tomorrow though? I understand before but after too? Your heart must be breaking!
I saw name at the farmers market yesterday and thought of you π I was thinking about getting it, but I decided to ease into exotic root veggies and got some yucca instead…any recipe suggestions?
Awww poor baby! I hope she feels better soon. That’s sad that she can’t have anything to eat until tomorrow. Give her a big kiss for me.
awwww poor babe! i hope she feels better π

Holy smokes, that burger looks so gooooooood.
Aww, poor Maddie! I’m sure she’ll be back to her old self in no time.
aww so sad…
I bought those Costco Burgers this weekend cant wait to try them!
Aw, poor wittle puppy. She’s too cute wih that cone on!
Aww your poor puppy! She does look super disoriented – hopefully a good night’s sleep will do her some good!
Have a great night!
get well soon sweet princess maddie!
Poor Maggie! We had our Diesel fixed a few months ago and he was a bit out of it when we got him home too. Plus, he hated that cone with a passion. I’m sure she’ll be back to her normal self tomorrow.
poor pooch π isn’t it funny how uncoordinated they are with them though? My dog couldn’t stop walking into walls, it was soo sad!
Poor Maddie π That’s weird, when Niko got neutered about a year ago, the vets didn’t give her a cone, and said they don’t need to do that anymore unless they automatically start biting there.
I’ll add my own poor Maddie sentiment. It’s so sad to see animals hurting….they don’t understand what’s going! Feel better Maddie!
Awwww what a sad little pup! I’m sure she will be feeling better in no time.
Awww, I’ve been there. My poor pup can relate
delish dinner!
awww! She looks so sleepy in those pictures! Poo baby! I am glad she is doing well. They always look so funny with those cones on, don’t they?
Aww poor Maddie! I hope she feels better soon!
aw poor maddie! give her lots of love for me!
Poor thing! But as you said, it’s all for the better.
Just give her lots of love and in no time she will be as new.
