Summertime Parfait

by Meghann on July 31, 2009

It’s funny how I can run great lengths of distances with no problem, but after sprinting a single mile yesterday I woke up a little sore.

My legs felt tight so to loosen them up I jogged a gentle three miles. I zoned out in my ipod and just breathed the morning air in. It was a very relaxing run that left my legs feeling much better.

I returned and did Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred. I have to be honest I am getting a little tired of this level. The strength moves are just so hard. I feel like such a baby.

After I finished working out and showering I cooled off with a nice parfait.

I layered the parfait with Vanilla Oikos Yogurt, Fruit Salad consisting of Grapes, Kiwi, Mango, Red Plum, & Strawberries, and Meg’s Tropical Jammin Granola.

I have really been digging parfaits this summer. They are just refreshing and fun to eat.

Last night I received a package from the wonderful Tina with some fun goodies to help get me psyched about Boston in a couple weeks. For work today I decided to sport a little of that Boston pride.

Thanks for the shirt Tina! I can’t wait!

Being a member of the Healthy Living Summit committee really has been a blast. I have had the pleasure of working with 5 fabulous, talented women who really know their stuff. Planning the summit has been a dream come true and would not have been possible if we had not all banded together as a group like we did.

Thank you to Kath, Caitlin, Tina, Heather and Jenna for a wonderful 6 months of planning! Boston is truly going to be a blast especially knowing we’ll all be there to celebrate it!

Only 14 more days!!! Whose excited?!?! I am!

Excited is not the word! I cannot wait! Level 2 is my favorite level of the shred. I love walkout push ups. 🙂

Yay, 2 weeks from today I will be on my way to Boston! That’s a great looking parfait 🙂 I’m about to eat my own yogurt concoction – Fage 2%, cherries, and Kashi Go Lean Crunch.

14 Rosey Rebecca July 31, 2009 at 10:34 am

I love parfaits! I wish I had the money to bid on one of Caitlin’s Golden Tickets! I’m going to be downstate at my parent’s house by NYC that weekend so it would be a trek to get there anyway!! I look forward to watching the summit live and maybe attending next year’s (if there is one!!)

15 HelpMeghanRun July 31, 2009 at 10:43 am

I love Level 2! 🙂 In some ways I think it’s harder than Level 3, but those walking pushups and plank rows in the third circuit of Level 3 are killer.

16 Mandy A July 31, 2009 at 10:49 am

I wish I was going to the Summit 🙁

haha.. you are NOT a baby! Level 2… or anything Jillian does for that matter, is TOUGH! We’re allowed to be babies and whine about it 🙂

17 Mandy A July 31, 2009 at 10:50 am

By the way, I’m with Meghan – I think Level 2 is harder than Level 3!!

18 ana July 31, 2009 at 10:51 am

Yum your parfrait looks so healthy and yummy!

I have two questions 🙂
Do you buy a big fruit salad for the week? or you cut the fruit everyday?

Are u still trying to lose weight? you look slimmer

19 Meghann July 31, 2009 at 10:54 am

I pre-made the fruit salad on Wednesday I think. I was just too lazy to look up the link for it. 🙂

Also I’m not trying to loose weight, in fact my weight is the same. It’s funny the last time I did the 30 Day Shred I would get the same comments. Maybe its the shred everyday that’s making me look leaner?

20 Gina July 31, 2009 at 10:51 am

I can’t wait! Only 2 more weeks! I love parfaits, but I forget the last time I’ve had one, it’s been too long. I think it will go on my breakfast menu for next week 🙂

21 Jess July 31, 2009 at 11:01 am

I’m so sick of Level 2 also…but I’m nearly done with it! Also, I can’t imagine doing it with 5 lbs weights, my 3lbs are killing me! haha.

22 Matt July 31, 2009 at 11:05 am

I am usually pretty sore after a speed workout as well. The next day is all about recovery!

23 Allison July 31, 2009 at 11:28 am

24 Juicy Jessy July 31, 2009 at 11:50 am

26 blueeyedgirl0805 July 31, 2009 at 12:33 pm

Sprinting always leaves me sore too!!!! On another issue, I know you’ve mentioned before that you use ecto for blogging…..how exactly does that work??? can you use it on more than one computer???

27 Hangry Pants July 31, 2009 at 12:50 pm

Meeeeee!!! I’m excited! I wonder what we’ll plan next. 😀 It will be weird not to have the daily email sessions.
