Lingering Morning

by Meghann on July 25, 2009

Last night all the energy I had been enjoying all day finally wore out after I finished blogging last night. I think crash and burn is a complete understatement. I passed out on the couch and woke up in bed this morning still fully stressed from the night before and unbrushed teeth. I was carried to bed last night and slept like a baby until Abbie woke me up before 7:00am. My body was finally telling me enough was enough and crashed. ๐Ÿ™‚

This morning I did something different. Instead of going straight to work out I sort of lingered in the apartment. I read some blogs, checked some e-mails, walked Abbie, finally brushed my teeth and then got ready to work out. I usually don’t like to stall in the morning, but it was nice to have that hour or so to myself.

I then completed 30 minutes on the elliptical and Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred.

I forgot how much harder level 2 is then 1! Especially with 5 pound weights. I was bitching Jillian out at the end.

Breakfast involved a special treat!

When we were at Target last night I saw this loaf of Cinnamon Raisin Bread and knew we could make some filler french toast in the morning. And I was right. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Derek’s kitchen is very minimal in the terms of seasonings or kitchen basics so the french toast was very simple. I just dipped the bread in an egg bath then pan fried on the stove top. When it was finished I had a very light drizzling of syrup on top. I like my french toast extra eggy so I poured the rest of the egg mix on top of my french toast.

With the slices of french toast I had a heaping portion of fruit salad

A classic Saturday breakfast that left me happy and ready to take on the day.

Plans for today are sort of up in the air, so how knows what we’re up to. I’m sure it will be a good day no matter what we decide. I do know we’re meeting up with Jenna tonight for the Rascal Flatts concert. I can’t wait! Cross your fingers for clear skies tonight!

My boyfriend tried to carry me to bed a month ago, lost his balance, fell over the coffee table, and ended up in the emergency room with a concussion! It’s a funny story now but it wasn’t when I was sitting in the waiting room at 4am just wanting to sleep. He also left a pretty good dent in our coffee table lol
