Tweeting

by Meghann on July 21, 2009

Look what came in the mail today….

DSCN2874.JPG

….my new swimsuits I ordered for super cheap from Victoria Secret last week. They got here fast!

Now I just need to plan a trip to the pool or beach so I can test them out. I <3 new swimsuits!

My afternoon was rather fun today at work. My supervisor and I are looking into twittering for our company so we spent the afternoon researching other companies who have had great success with their tweets. @southwestair and @richardatdell are two in particular that provide really good customer info through their twitter feed.

Do you follow any major companies’ tweets? Do you tweet for your work?

Don’t forget you can follow me on twitter as well!

While tweeting I had a great snack I randomly thought of last night and have been dreaming about ever since.

DSCN2868.JPG

I made a dip of Ricotta Cheese, a drizzle of Honey and a Strawberry for some lovely Kashi Honey Crackers.

The combo was all I was hoping for. I am so glad to have ricotta cheese back in my life. 🙂

When I got home I immediately did level 1 of the 30 Day Shred with 5 lb weights. I forgot to mention it on the blog, but I did the shred after work yesterday too.

Dinner was another idea that came to my head yesterday evening.

DSCN2875.JPG

Before I did the Shred DVD I massaged some Kale with Avocado & Lemon Juice. I refrigerated it during my work out and when I was finished I added the toppings:

  • Jicama
  • Naked Quorn Cutlet
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Tomato
  • Mushrooms
  • Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • Drizzle of Annie’s BBQ Sauce

The salad was very tasty and refreshing. It was the perfect meal to enjoy during this awful summer heat.

Another favorite to eat in this heat? Ice Cream 😉

After dinner I had a small serving of So Delicious Mocha Almond Fudge Ice Cream with fresh cherries chopped on top.

Thanks to everyone’s recommendations from a few weeks ago I started watching the first couple of episodes of True Blood this evening. It’s well…. interesting. A little dark for my taste. I will try watching the next disc as well, but I still prefer Twilight to True Blood. There is just no comparison. 😉

YUM! The kashi cracker snack looks great 🙂

2 VeggieGirl July 21, 2009 at 8:22 pm

Haha yes, you definitely cannot compare True Blood with Twilight – different “vampire wavelengths” 😉

3 Erica July 21, 2009 at 8:26 pm

Those suits are SO cute! I love the brown one!! Sweetened ricotta is amazing- reminds me of Giada 😉 Hope you have a great night

I love ricotta cheese! I like to use it in place of cream cheese on cinnamon raisin toast or bagels, Cute bathing suits 🙂

8 Natalie M. July 21, 2009 at 8:41 pm

I love the camp factor of true blood and the satire is phenomenal! Twilight is cool… I do love my r-patz 🙂

Did you just watch season 2 eps or begin with season 1? I love how you put interesting in italics… LOL I feel as if I know exactly what you were thinking. hahaha… give it a chance Meghann! Pleaseeeeee

The suits look even cuter in person! Mine that I purchased completely on impulse after reading your post should be here tomorrow 🙂 I hope you take full responsibility!

Those swimsuits are adorable!

12 nutritionbyeve July 21, 2009 at 8:56 pm

Your combinations are so interesting! Keep up the great meals.

13 Amanda July 21, 2009 at 9:06 pm

Those meals look great! I would have added some ricotta or cottage cheese to that salad, too!!

Have you watched Entourage at all? I never have until a few weeks ago (my boyfriend loves it) and it’s great! It’s really like Sex and the City .. the boy version. Although its on HBO, you can get all the discs on Netflix!

14 Matt July 21, 2009 at 9:08 pm

That snack looks bomb! I think I am gonna try that! I seriously am in love with ricotta cheese.

15 Kim July 21, 2009 at 9:19 pm

Hey Meghann, just wanted to say I’ve been following your blog and I love it! I’m from Tampa as well (technically St. Pete, but we’ll pretend the Howard Franklin doesn’t exist)! I’m also doing the 30 Day Shred. Hope you’re doing well! By the way, I looooooove that suit with the birds on it. Adorable!

16 roseyrebecca July 21, 2009 at 9:20 pm

Oo! That snack looks yummy! Such a great idea! Your ice cream looks great too! I bought over a lb of fresh cherries yesterday and have been eating them non-stop! I love cherries!!

19 meg July 21, 2009 at 9:31 pm

Love the suits! I want some of that ice cream!

Will be following you on Twitter!

20 Amy July 21, 2009 at 9:50 pm

I loooove True Blood. I just started reading the books too! 🙂

21 melruns July 21, 2009 at 10:03 pm

Funny, I had a similar conversation with my coworkers today. We are going to recommend that our client starts a Twitter account along with other social networking initiatives.

ALSO, my old manager is now the head marketing account manager for all of HBO’s series, including True Blood. How freakin lucky is she! Although it entails 10 hour workdays.. yikes.

22 MarathonVal July 21, 2009 at 10:08 pm

I can’t decide if Jillian’s Shred is work buying – especially during the summer when I am busy with marathon training outdoors a lot – do you recommend it and how many times a week do you get to use yours?

23 Jaime July 21, 2009 at 10:09 pm

OMG…so glad you are trying out True Blood. It’s definitely dark, but hopefully after a few episodes you start to love the characters like I did. Even the ones I hate, I love! hehe. Ya, I’m a nerd like that.

I even bought the set of books and am powering through them faster than Twilight…if that’s possible.

note to self: buy ricotta (love it with the honey!)

24 Kelly July 21, 2009 at 10:10 pm

I want a new VC Swimsuit! Jealous! 🙂

25 Mandy A July 21, 2009 at 11:05 pm

YUMMY snack!! If only I could do ricotta cheese 🙁

I am thinking of starting my own Jillian challenge for the next 30 days before my brother’s wedding next month. I think I would have it as an add on to my other videos that I do… I’m not sure how I’m going to work it. Better figure it out by the morning… haha

26 Christina July 21, 2009 at 11:33 pm

Love the swim suits, especially the one with the birds.

I have yet to explore twitter but it seems like everyone is tweeting these days so I may give in soon!

27 Hallie July 21, 2009 at 11:43 pm

I’ve been tweeting for my job since about November and I think it’s great! If you have any questions let me know…I’ve done a fair amount of Social Media research. One thing I’d say is, figure out why you are using social media: who do you want to reach? what do you want to accomplish? And from there you can figure out where you need to be (Twitter, Facebook, etc.)

28 Kiki July 22, 2009 at 4:16 am

wow those bikinis look amazing! and u’re such a champ for going back to the Shred! cant wait for that DVD to be released in europe (region 2) – so far cant find it anywhere!

After seeing the great deal you got on those suits last week, I had to order one myself =) Thanks. I am new to all this blogging and your blog has been entertaining and exciting to read! Keep posting all those pics!

30 Kathy (Moving Beyond Perfection) July 22, 2009 at 8:02 am

That ricotta/strawberry combo sounds delish!

Also, I think the CW channel is also coming out with a twilight-ish series soon. The vampire love story craze has exploded, haha! I do love my twilight though.

31 Sarah (from See Sarah Eat) July 22, 2009 at 9:07 am

I follow Starbucks and Whole Foods (the company and my local store) and that has really helped me get info quicker 🙂

I love True Blood but it is a little over the top at times, thanks to being on HBO. But I’m glad you are giving it a shot!

32 tlconrad July 22, 2009 at 9:18 am

True Blood is way way way different than Twilight. I read the Sookie Stackhouse novels first and then I watched True Blood season 1. Needless to say I was SHOCKED! I had no idea it was going to be so graphic. The books were really really good and I read all 9 of them in less than a month. I really do like the True Blood series. I think the first season was mostly for shock value and now the second season is a little more mellow (but we are only on episode 4 i think).

On the CW this fall, Vampire Diaries is a new show. It is based on the Vampire Diaries 4 books that were out a few years ago and 2 new ones that are out now. It is next on the list to read before September.

Twitter is the best. I love following my local news people and radio people. They are the funnest ones. I would really like my bank to Tweet about stuff going on… We always have specials and things happening. I think its a great outlet.

Your suits are too cute! Too bad I have reached my swimsuit quota for the year. 🙁

34 andee July 22, 2009 at 10:12 am

It took me a while to get into True Blood because it was so different, but after a couple discs, I can’t stop watching! It’s definitely a good series to follow. I recommend Dexter if you haven’t seen the show before, it’s the best show I’ve ever seen

35 Andrea (Off Her Cork) July 22, 2009 at 11:02 am

I follow a lot of companies and restaurants on Twitter and love it! You can learn about specials, sales, and events going on. It’s helped me be more aware of what’s happening in my local area. Plus it’s helped me find new places and events to go to! Love it! 🙂
