Tweeting

by Meghann on July 21, 2009

Look what came in the mail today….

….my new swimsuits I ordered for super cheap from Victoria Secret last week. They got here fast!

Now I just need to plan a trip to the pool or beach so I can test them out. I <3 new swimsuits!

My afternoon was rather fun today at work. My supervisor and I are looking into twittering for our company so we spent the afternoon researching other companies who have had great success with their tweets. @southwestair and @richardatdell are two in particular that provide really good customer info through their twitter feed.

Do you follow any major companies’ tweets? Do you tweet for your work?

Don’t forget you can follow me on twitter as well!

While tweeting I had a great snack I randomly thought of last night and have been dreaming about ever since.

I made a dip of Ricotta Cheese, a drizzle of Honey and a Strawberry for some lovely Kashi Honey Crackers.

The combo was all I was hoping for. I am so glad to have ricotta cheese back in my life. :)

When I got home I immediately did level 1 of the 30 Day Shred with 5 lb weights. I forgot to mention it on the blog, but I did the shred after work yesterday too.

Dinner was another idea that came to my head yesterday evening.

Before I did the Shred DVD I massaged some Kale with Avocado & Lemon Juice. I refrigerated it during my work out and when I was finished I added the toppings:

  • Jicama
  • Naked Quorn Cutlet
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Tomato
  • Mushrooms
  • Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • Drizzle of Annie’s BBQ Sauce

The salad was very tasty and refreshing. It was the perfect meal to enjoy during this awful summer heat.

Another favorite to eat in this heat? Ice Cream ;)

After dinner I had a small serving of So Delicious Mocha Almond Fudge Ice Cream with fresh cherries chopped on top.

Thanks to everyone’s recommendations from a few weeks ago I started watching the first couple of episodes of True Blood this evening. It’s well…. interesting. A little dark for my taste. I will try watching the next disc as well, but I still prefer Twilight to True Blood. There is just no comparison. ;)

Free Pastry Day

by Meghann on July 21, 2009

My boss was my lifesaver today!

We were both feeling rather unmotivated this morning so we took a field trip to our local Starbucks to take advantage of a Free Pastry this morning.

DSCN2844

I was so excited about the idea of getting the free pastry, I unfortunately forgot to print the coupon! Luckily the lady at the register was really sweet and gave us our free pastries anyways. :)

I ordered a Grande Unsweetened Passion Fruit Tea for my drink.

DSCN2841

There was slim pickings for the pastry. I was told to choose one from the bottom shelf, which was sad because I really wanted to choose the Blueberry Oat Bar on the top shelf. :(

In the end I went with the Raspberry Muffin.

DSCN2845

I had 1/2 while my Supervisor and I had a ‘meeting’ at the Starbucks before heading back to the office. ;)

I ended up making another cup of highly caffeinated Ice Tea when I returned to work. Needless to I was able to get an energy high that carried me through lunch.

I admit lunch today was not the prettiest of meals, but I promised they were very yummy left overs.

I made sure last night to make plenty of Sweet Potato Hashbrows, knowing full well they would become a wonderful soup for lunch today.

DSCN2859

I added 1 cup College In Coconut Curry Broth & a handful of Mushrooms to the Sweet Potato and heated it up in the microwave. This broth is very flavorful and pairs perfectly with the sweet potatoes. I’ve had this combination once before and was so happy to have the opportunity to enjoy it again.

With the soup I heated up the left over pasta from Saturday night.

I’ll admit the pasta was not nearly as good as it was on Saturday.

I also grabbed some unpictured Cherries on my way out the door. ;)

Florida Heat

July 21, 2009

I don’t believe most people understand just how ridiculously HOT it gets in Florida during the summer time. Even though my morning run began before sunrise I am pretty sure it was already close to 90 by the time I was done. Right now the idea of running in anything but short shorts and a more »
