My run this morning was awesome!
I have to say all of my running routes around my parent’s house are my favorites and I always look forward waking up each morning to head out on one of these great routes.
My sister and I got up just before 7:00am this morning to head for a run down the street and around one of the local parks. We started out fast and the first 1/2 mile was tough, but honestly after that I felt great. We completed our first 2 miles at a 9:10 pace and honestly I felt I could have ran the entire distance at that pace, but my sister said we needed to slow down.
We ran the next 2 miles between 9:30 and 9:45 then when I ditched my sister for the last mile I sprinted home. I ended up finishing 6 miles, which is the farthest distance I have ran since my marathon a month ago. The fact that my speed is coming back, felt great. There is something about the routes from my parent’s house that brings out the best runner in me.
When we got back my Dad was requesting his belated Father’s Day breakfast so we cooked up a feast of breakfast goodies.
I had a 2 egg omelette with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and a sprinkle of pepperjack cheese.
I also made some homemade hashbrowns with 1/4 chicken apple sausage.
My sister contributed a lovely fruit salad of apples, plum, blueberries, mango and kiwi.
To round the meal out I had a piece of whole wheat toast with sugar free apple butter.
That was a huge meal and I am now stuffed!
It is now t-minus 2.5 hours until we board the ship! Yippee!!
Due to the ridiculous internet rates on the ship I will unfortunately not be blogging while on the cruise, but I do have a few guest posts schedules including one form my sister and Derek. I also promise to have a full recap when I return Monday morning.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday weekend! I will see you when I return! :)
