It has been another rather adventurous day in the North Carolina mountains.
First thing this morning my Sister and I did a collaborative boot camp type work out on the lake deck. We did not really have any routine and were just doing random kick boxing and playground style moves. It was fun, we would do 15 or so reps of one move and then one of us would shout another move such as jumping jacks and we would do reps of that until someone shouted something else.
After working up a sweat it was nice to have a big ole bowl of fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal to come back to.
In my bowl
- 1 Peach
- Non-Fat Plain Stonyfield Yogurt
- Cinnamon Puffins
- Crumbled Sweet Potato Pecan Bread
I also snuck a piece of bacon on the bowl.
I have been enjoying my southern breakfasts, but there’s nothing like a great big bowl of fruit and cereal to make me happy.
The rest of the morning was spent on another boating adventure. I made it in the water and did a little knee boarding and water skiing, but decided I would be much happier on the dock in this position.
After this photo I literally passed out for a good hour. Nothing beats napping in the sun next to a beautiful lake. 😉
Lunch was very orange and brown today.
I started with just Carrots & Almond Butter, but staring in front a fridge while starving at the same time always lead to me filling my plate up. Before I knew it a Biscuit, Orange and left over Potato Fries made their way on my plate as well.
I did discover that Biscuit with Almond Butter + Carrot is a great combo!
This afternoon we actually took a suggestion from a reader – by the way thanks for all the recommendations everyone! – and hiked up Whiteside Mountain.
It was a BEAUTIFUL hike that led us to gorgeous cliffs with great views of the mountain side.
As always Abbie was my brave little girl showing everyone how its done.
For all the Scooby lovers as well
Abbie and I decided to make a video just to show you how great the views were.
(If you are reading on Google Reader you are going to have to click through to the post to watch the viedo)
Hmmm… sorry about the sweaty no make up/ icky hair look, but I hope that gives you an idea of how pretty it was. 🙂
When we made it back to the car the dogs got their traditional rub down.
My Sister handed me 1/4 of a Peanut Butter Cookie Luna Bar to munch on.
My Dad could not resist pulling into a Wendys on the way back, so I joined the family in ordering a junior vanilla Frosty.
I can not tell you the last time I had a frosty! It was great. 🙂 I love that they offer vanilla now because I’m not a fan of chocolate ice cream. I always appreciate the junior cup serving size, it was the perfect little amount.
The clouds have moved in and it’s starting to thunder here, but I think we need a few relaxing hours inside to catch up anyways. I also think a shower is in order. Lake water + sweaty hike = a smelly situation!
