Is it Friday yet?

by Meghann on May 27, 2009

Work today has been ok. With such an exciting weekend in the forecast, it’s honestly hard to concentrate! I just keep thinking of all the to dos I have to at home and with the blog before I take off. Busy, busy, busy!

Food always helps keep my mind on track though. :)

Mid-morning I snacked on a Chocolate Brownie Gnu bar.

This really is a good bar, but I think I have been over doing it on ‘brownie’ flavored bars lately. This one just was not as great as it once was. I need to remember to lay off of chocolate flavored bars for a while.

Lunch today was a combination of freezer and fridge finds.

DSCN0751

Which all centered around this new (to me) Amy’s Burrito that has been in the freezer for a while.

Before I made a concious effort to start eating healthier, I used to be obsessed with Taco Bell’s Bean Burrito with cheese. How could you go wrong with a 79 cent ooey gooey burrito? Amy’s Burrito reminded me of that ooey gooey burrito which I had loved for so long. Now we just need to work on making this version 79 cents. ;)

Gooey cheese and beans were over flowing out of the burrito. It was really a treat to eat!

With the burrito I had the last cup of Creamy Portobello Pacific Soup with some Blue Cheese Crumbles.

DSCN0753

The soup itself was ok, the best bites were the ones with the blue cheese and once those ran out I stopped eating the soup. The soup served a better purpose as the base for the vegetable soup I created with it last night.

To round the meal out I chopped a small apple.

As I stated above I am done with chocolate flavored bars for the moment, but genuine Dark Chocolate Bars? Pshhh… never.

DSCN0757

I had three pieces of the Hershey’s Dark Chocolate bar that as been on my counter since San Antonio. It was screaming ‘Eat Me’ today.

Now I just have to make it through the rest of the today and then tomorrow and I am free for 4 days! Yay!

I don’t see any clothes on your coffee table. Does that mean you put them all away like a good Meghann should?? ;-)

TWO DAYS!!!

OMG, I use to LOVE LOVE LOVE Taco Bell’s Gordita’s! I don’t think it’s any coincidence that in Spanish Gordita means “little fat girl”. Very happy to have laid off the Taco Bell long ago myself!

Good luck this weekend in San Diego! You’re going to do wonderfully and i’m so excited that you’ll be able to run with Bobbi!! If you have any half marathon prep tips i’m always interested as a bunch of us have one on Saturday here in NYC!

Oohhh, the burrito looks GOOD. I’m such a sucker for cheap Taco Bell burritos and tacos. Reminds me of the good ol’ days. :P I totally agree though; no way Amy’s burritos are going to be 79 cents anytime soon (I WISH). Haha!

I love Amy’s burritos, because I love the spiciness of them, but yes, I wish they were less expensive too!

it’s so great that you’re able to go home for lunch!

i’ve actually never tried any Amy’s products (i don’t think?). i know she makes plenty of vegan products, right? might be good things to have on hand for quick meals.

putting blue cheese on top of that soup is a GENIUS idea! Now I’ve got a new obsession on putting some kind of strong cheese on top of my soups!

I haven’t watched why they run yet, but I sent it to a few of my fellow tnt friends, and one told me that I better stock up on puffs.

i totally agree on the chocolate GNU bar- I loved the other samples they sent me like the banana walnut and esp. the orange cranberry but the chocolate one was gross- i would have rather eaten a hershey bar!
