Blue Skies

by Meghann on May 24, 2009

Look blue sky!!

Its rumored the sunshine won’t last for long, but after a week of nothing but grey skies, the pretty blue shining though is a welcomed change. ๐Ÿ™‚

The sun was already up and about when I arose this morning at 6:30am. My wishes had been answered and I knew I would be able to enjoy a nice run, rain free.

Before I left I dug through my parent’s fridge and found a quarter of a pita that I slathered with some almond butter.

Bread + Nut Butter = Perfect Pre-Run Fuel.

The beautiful weather really was great inspiration for my run this morning. I did one of my favorites loops from my parents house where I run to the end of their road, circle around a local park and then back to the house. No hills, no major obstacles, just a simple in and our run that went on for 7.5 miles.

This was officially the longest run I have planned before my marathon a week from today. The rest of this week will be filled with lots of rest, some strength training and two runs that will be no longer then 5 miles. I am officially knee deep in tapering! ๐Ÿ™‚

With all the left over food from yesterday’ graduation party, our family’s fridge is stocked full of plenty of lovely ingredients for a delish omelette.

I made a two egg omelette with Onions, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrot, Yellow Squash, and Jalapeno Cheese cubes. I love omelette chalk full of tons of veggies and cheese. This was a great way to start the morning.

I ate the majority of the omelette on top of 1/2 a Whole Wheat Bagel.

For something sweet to round out my breakfast I had the last serving of my Yogurt Parfait Pie.

It was a very filling plate of great breakfast eats. The perfect Sunday morning breakfast.

It’s now 9:30 and I sadly see some clouds starting to roll in. Boooo….. Can’t the sun just stay out and play for one day this holiday weekend? Pretty, Pretty Pllleeeaassseeee!

Yay for blue skies!! I am glad the weather finally cooperated and you got your run in. Enjoy the rest of the day! I am relegated to working out in our gym in the basement due to my allergies – and it is beautiful here in Ohio. Oh well:)
