After months of training, fund raising and bleeding toes, this morning I was finally bestowed with my very own Purple TNT singlet.
In 8 days I will be one of many in the sea of purple that will invade the San Diego marathon and I could not be more proud!
It is only appropriate that in our final run with our Team in Training group we would be handed over these prized shirts. We worked hard to earn these babies and everyone was very excited to test them out during our very hilly, 5.5 mile run this morning.
Being the last run left me a little sad. As my alarm went off at 5:45 this morning I kept thinking if this would be the last time I would have to get up this early for a Saturday morning run for a while. What will I do with myself? I know I am not going to stop running when the marathon is over, but I guess there really won’t be a need for ridiculous early Saturday runs. Yippee!
Before heading out I had a Mountain Mix Mojo Bar to fuel me up.
I was actually expecting to run 10 miles this morning as it stated on our schedule, but instead we were instructed to climb ‘Big Bertha’ 5 times before calling it a day. Big Bertha is a very tough hill and those 5 times up and down sure felt like 10 miles!
After the run we all headed to Panera for a shirt decorating party.
Unfortunately, we ran out of the silver glitter pen so my back is not quite done, but a very nice team member with great handwriting put my name on the front.
I was very much ready for breakfast while designing my shirt. I ordered a Whole Grain Bagel with Hazelnut Cream Cheese and a small Apple on the side.
I only used about 1/4 of the provided cream cheese.
A friend had ordered the parfait, but did not like the granola so I gladly took that off her hands as well.
I love Panera’s granola in their parfaits, it almost tastes homemade. Almost.
Now I am running late, late, late for the joint graduation party at my parents. Don’t worry family I will be there soon!
