Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful Mom’s out there! 🙂
I know I’ve said it over and over again but I am truly blessed to have the amazing family that I have and at the head of the family stands my Mom tall and strong. My Mom taught me to be independent, to follow my dreams, to never give up and she never stopped supported me along the way.
Whether it was in fifth grade and I decided I wanted to be an actress or in High School when I went out for cheerleading year after year, my Mom was always there standing by my side letting me know I can be anything I wanted to be.
Thank you Mom for raising the four of us up right!
Ok sap fest over! Now on to the wonderful relaxing day I spent with my Mom.
I started out the morning bright and early with some of Polly’s Yoga for Runners. Her short ten minute videos are really perfect for stretching out my tight legs the day after a long run. I am also happy to report that my legs feel GREAT today! They were a little tight when I got up, but thanks to Polly I feel I could easily complete a short run right now.
I knew breakfast was going to be on the later side and since I always wake up starving, I had a Peanut Butter Gnu Bar before Yoga.
I then made the 45 minute drive to my parent’s house for Mother’s Day Breakfast. I helped my Dad make some fluffy waffles. I cut up some strawberries and had some non-fat vanilla yogurt on top.
I also had a piece of bacon on the side.
Bacon is sooo bad, but sooo good. It’s one of my big weaknesses.
And somehow I ended up with a Saltwater Taffy piece for dessert.
These babies are addicting!
After breakfast we loaded up the car and headed to New Smyrna Beach for some fun in the sun.
Ok, so yesterday I lied there is something better then laying out by the pool after a 20 mile run…. laying by the beach!
There was not a cloud in the sky and everyone was out taking advantage of the fantastic weather.
I snacked on two PistahiOats while reading my book and catching some rays.
After a couple of hours on the sand we walked down the beach and found a great little restaurant on the water called The Breakers.
We literally sat in the restaurant in just our swim suits and without shoes on.
However, I forgot my ID and was unable to be served beer. 🙁 I still got to spend some time with my Mommy though!
For lunch I ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad with no croutons and dressing on the side.
There was ALOT of Tuna! I had to take a few pieces off and set it to the side to stop me from eating too large of a portion.
There was a nice breeze coming up from the water through the open air restaurant and check out this view we had of the beach!
After lunch we were all stuffed and headed back to play in the waves.
I also shared another SaltWater Taffy with my Mommy, but was too lazy to get up and take a photo.
To help us cool off from the beach, we stopped for Ice Cream at Brusters on the way home and I for a Small Peanut Butter Yogurt Sugar Cone.
MMmm… I have to say I think peanut butter is my favorite flavor of all time. This was sooooo good!
Now I am currently sitting on the couch between my twin bro and Sister as we both type, type away on our lap tops. My Mom is on the couch across from us on her lap top as well. LOL Isn’t it funny what technology has brought us to? Such is life!
Have a great Mother’s Day everyone!
