The last time I made Tuna Salad a reader recommended next time I try mixing it with Hummus instead of my usual combo of light mayo and honey mustard. The idea has always been in the back of my mind, so when the can of Tuna was staring back at me from the cupboard today I decided to give it a try.
My Tuna Re-Mix
- 1 can Tuna
- 1 tbsp WildWood Indian Spice Hummus
- 1 Carrot
- 2 Radishes
- Raisins
- Jalapenoes
I filled a Flat Out Wrap with the Tuna Salad and some Spinach then put under the broiler for a couple of minutes just to toast everything up.
See this is why I have a blog, all the great ideas everyone shares! The tuna salad with the hummus was AMAZING!! It was so moist and yummy! I highly suggest the combo to everyone out there!
With the Tuna Wrap I had some Orange Slices….
…. Peanut Butter Pretzels…..
and a mini Cinnamon Twist.
It was a very refreshing satisfying lunch.
To rewind I had one of Ashley’s Homemade Granola Bars as my mid-morning snack.
While I ate my lunch today Abbie cuddled with me on the couch, it wasn’t until I returned to work did I notice the light dusting of Abbie’s fur I returned with.
Ughh… the temps are over 90 degrees outside this week, which means its time for Abbie to start shedding like crazy. The joys of having a white fur dog.

I am constantly covered in cat hair, I feel your pain!
that tuna salad is a GREAT idea! love it!
and i totally feel your pain! lando sheds like that every day fo the year!!! mike actually stopped wearing his coat this winter because the lint roller broke, and his coat was just COVERED in fur!
We have a white dog as well, she is a puppy and it is her first summer. I thought she was sick or something when I saw how much she was shedding, then i realized it was the 100 degree weather! Our black sheet are now covered in white hair.
The tuna idea is a great one. Your lunch looks so tasty!
I know how you feel about the dog hair situation! I have two huskies and they shed carpets on a daily basis! It requires constant cleaning! Very annoying!
I forgot to add
BUT I love my doggies and all the extra cleaning is SO worth it
I have a dalmatian and he sheds like crazy, so I can relate
oh yum! Your eats look good. I have a cat who leaves white hair everywhere. I can’t wear black pants around the house because then I end up covered in white fur. Let’s just say I have lots of those lint remover brushes around. I must brush myself down before leaving the house.
awwwww. i really want a puppy but my parents are all anal about shedding. *sigh*
What a fabulous combination. I would’ve never thought to add either jalenos or hummus to tuna but I can see how that would go awesome.
Thanks for the idea!

I’ve been totally wanting to put hummus in my tuna FOREVER but I can’t find that damn can of tuna in my pantry! Nice combo
Mmm that looks and sounds absolutely delicious!!!
It was really cool to see an outline of your morning routine, very inspiring! Thank you!
My dog has been shedding like crazy too! He’s losing all of his undercoat on everything! I am addicted to PB pretzels now.
Tuna with hummus sounds FANTASTIC!
awesome lunch! i haven’t tried the tuna/hummus combo yet, but it sounds great.
love the abbie hair – I always show up to work with cat hair on me. It’s inevitable.
We have 3 black animals (2 cats and a Rottweiler) and WHITE CARPETS
Your lunch looks delish!! I love tuna salad and would never have thought of mixing hummus with it.. Sounds amazing.
Ahhh I’m totally making that for dinner!!
OOH I just remember… have you tried your PB pretzels with hummus? sounds odd, but it is soooo good!
Yum! I’m definitely going to give that tuna salad a try!
Yummy lunch!
This weather is unbearable! It is so hot in Florida!! I’m lucky though, none of our dogs shed =) Gotta love a labradoodle!!
That wrap looks awesome, I never would have thought of adding raisins either.
It’s okay…I have hairy boobs too. What?!?
yum tuna and hummus is GENIUS!
haha i have a black dog, a white dog, a tan dog AND a brown dog. fur is visible no matter what color i have on.
Hummus makes everything better!
Bloggers are so smart! I also like using Greek yogurt as a sour cream or mayo sub
My dog is black and white so no matter what I ALWAYS get fur on me!
Oh hummus! Love it!
And awwwhhh, I want a dog regardless. LOL
adding hummus to anything sounds good in my book.
peace love and blog – word!!
That tuna salad looks so moist! Mine always seems to dry and I don’t like to add the whole can of mayo (lol).
What’s your secret to a good consistency??
Thanks for the hummus tip! I’ve been trying to convince myself to try some tuna for a while and I hate mayo, but LOVE hummus!
I’m so jealous that your office threw such a great Cinco de Mayo party! Definitely going to have to try tuna and hummus…never would have thought to combine those two
Mmmm, I love tuna. I’ll have to try it that way. Mayo gets so boring [and fattening!]
I always go to work looking like I’m wearing half my cat. Doesn’t matter if I don’t touch her at all in the morning, I’m guaranteed to be wearing cat hair. And she’s not even long haired!
