Last night I could not have been more proud of my little sister. After exactly 4 years of hard work my she practically skipped across that big stage and received her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology, Magna Cum lade, from Florida State University!
Like me, my sister is a very organized person. We thrive on schedules that allow for ample of time to achieve our goals in a timely manner. After witnessing the hectic chaos that was my graduation, Kelly had designed a plan to make sure she was able to get all of the pictures she needed as well as have time to eat and get to the ceremony with enough time to spare.
The schedule had us ready to go promptly at 2:00 for pictures around the campus. Please prepare yourself for a ton of pics. We took so many good ones and I am just so proud of my little sis.
First up the Stadium.
Check out how cute my sis and her boyfriend are.
The fountain outside the stadium.
And of course the famous landmark of FSU, Westcott Fountain.
I <3 my Sister.
Partial family shot.
Unfortunately my two brothers could no make the ceremony. We missed them!
After pictures it was time for our 4:00pm dinner reservations at a cute french restaurant called Chez Pierre.
I remember hearing about this place when I was a freshman at FSU, but have never had the pleasure of eating a full meal. It does have a wonderful atmosphere with an outside patio that is always hopping durin happy hour.
After two hours of taking photos in the Florida sun we were all very hot and looking to cool down. The idea of ordering a bottle of wine was suggested for the occassion, but was quickly dismissed when we heard their great beer selection.
I happily ordered a Shock Top.
The guest of honor enjoyed her New Castle.
Since it was graduation weekend, the restaurant had a special graduation dinner menu.
It took me a while to decide what I wanted. All the salads looked really good, but I just had salad for lunch and was trying to be adventurous so I went for the main course offerings.
I selected the Grilled Grouper in a Citrus Broth. I asked for it sans rice with double the steamed veggies.
I loved it! The fish flavor was very subtle and the citrus broth was strong and tropical. I ate the majority of the fish and passed the last 1/3 of the fish to my sister’s boyfriend.
With the meal I enjoyed 2 tiny pieces of French Bread.
After dinner we headed back to my sister’s apartment and I had a small handful of M&Ms that were staring at me.
Around 6:30 it was time to head to the main event
There were approximately 1800 graduates walking across the stage last night and 15,000 total in the civic center. (there were three cereomonies in total over the weekend for FSU)
Luckily were able to find Kelly at the beginning close to the stage.
As much as I love my sister and loved watching her take her walk, watching the other 1799 other graduates have their names called just wasn’t the same. So I brought a little reading material.
And once I finished the magazine my Mom and I had fun with the camera.
A little more then half way through I snacked on an Apple. It had officially been 5 hours since my dinner at this point.
When it was all over we found were able to relatively quickly track my Sister down and give our congrats!
She had been texting her desire for Ice Cream during the ceremony so off to Cold Stone we went!
I was very excited to see they had Sinless Cake Batter.
I had a Like It of the Sinless Cake Batter with Heath Bar pieces and Sprinkles.
I like to ask for a sample spoon with my ice cream and eat my bowl with the sample spoon.
It forces me to take little bites and make the ice cream last longer.
After all the excitement I was beat and ready to crash.
I’ll be back later with a recap of my 18 miler this morning!!! 🙂
