Another Laundry Post

by Meghann on April 14, 2009

I know I have mentioned on this blog more then once how much I hate to do laundry and my uncanny ability to let it pile it up for months at a time. Case in point as I was folding clothes this evening I realized I was folding outfits that I had worn during my Triathalon way back on March 14th!

The sad part is this isn’t even all of it. I still have a load of towels waiting to be folded and a load of work pants/jeans in the dryer.

I love the leaning tower of sports bras!

And just to show you how high the clothes go on my table, I put a box of Kashi Cereal for comparison.

Ok, I promise to try not to mention laundry on here ever again. It’s just the only thing thats been on my mind this week. It’s a three day process for me.

  • Day 1 – Wash & Dry Clothes
  • Day 2 – Fold Clothes
  • Day 3 – Put Clothes away

Sigh… ok that’s it I promise!

I am sure you would much rather see my lovely food instead of my clean undewear anyways.:)

This past week I have really been craving Peach Chobani, therefore I could hardly wait to break into my snack this afternoon of the wonderful yogurt and 1/2 cup of Kashi Honey Sunshine.

I gobbled this up far to quickly and then proceeded to lick the container. Obsess much?

My dinner was a lovely random concoction that only you guys would ever understand.

I started with a layer of Steamed Kale then topped it with a mix of Roasted Eggplant, Smoked Tofu & Jalepeno Pasta Sauce, Steamed Green Beans and just a sprinkle of Crushed Walnuts.

I wanted carbs so I toasted a slice of Publix Multi Grain Bread on the side.

The Hickory BBQ Smoked Tofu was a first for me and I really enjoyed it.

Dustin from Wildwood was kind enough to send me an array of samples to try and so far I am impressed. The flavor and texture were much different from my normal baked tofu, but not bad at all. I also love how all the pre work is already done and you can just take it out of the package and eat it. I sampled some straight from the package and have the other half of the block for my lunch tomorrow.

It’s safe to say my Dark Chocolate Easter Bunny is now torso-less.

I have a feeling this bunny isn’t going to last long. ;) I also managed to snag a Snicker from my chocolate stash as well. You know for ‘good measure.’

I guess I should get back to folding my laundry. Boooo… Is it Friday yet?!?!

Not a Pretty Day

by Meghann on April 14, 2009

It has not been a pretty day in the Sunshine State. The clouds are dark and gray outside and we have had tornado warnings all morning. With already a couple of inches or rain on the ground, we are expected to get a couple of more before tonight. I guess these are the times I should be thankful I am inside all day for my job?

I had 10 o’clock meeting this morning and wasn’t ready for a snack before the meeting. When it let out an hour later I knew I needed something, but my original planned snack was too big for so close to lunch time so I grabbed a handful of Awesome Almonds from my stash.

These were a great tide me over.

I had a few errands to run during my lunch, so I was unable to make it home today to eat. There were some left overs in the kitchen from a meeting yesterday so I snagged a plate with my pre-packed Orange and Barney Butter Sample.

DSCN0130

The left overs were from Roly Poly. I LOVE their salad and Mega Veggie Wrap. I was able to snag the last two.

I had brought the Barney Butter to dip the orange in, but Barney Butter doesn’t have quite the same dipping capabilities as my Whole Foods Almond Butter does. I ended up smearing the orange with it.

This is my 3rd attempt with Barney Butter and I have to say its ok, but again not something I would write home about. I have a jar in my pantry off a contest I won a couple of weeks ago and I think it will be my ‘back up’ jar of almond butter. lol. Not something I would grab first, but if its there I will eat it.

If you are bored and need something to click on check out this educational quiz over at Women’s Health that VeggieGirl sent me about the 11 Most Common Running Mistakes. Its worth a read. :)

MyWayCereal Review

April 14, 2009

Some mornings I get up and my mind starts throwing excuses to avoid my daily morning run. Other mornings I practically bounce out of bed, excited to tackle my run so early in the day. This morning was a bouncing out of bed morning. I think I was still on a high from yesterday’s run more »
