The ever elusive PURE bars have finally found their way into my life.

Well, atleast one has.
Abbie had placed a Chocolate Brownie PURE Bar in my Runner’s Easter Basket and I was very excited to finally try the bar as my snack this afternoon.
I have heard mix reviews of the bar. They are very similar to Larabars and seem to have the same reputation. Some hate them and some love them. I honestly was a bit scared during m first bite, but I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was very rich and reminded me of a Little Debbie’s Brownie. It was thick, dense and very chewy.
I am interested to try other flavors of the bar in the future, but for now I am happy to have a second Chocolate Brownie Pure Bar waiting for me in the pantry.
Thanks again Abbie for all of the goodies!
Easter Lunch left overs once again played a big role in my dinner tonight.

My Aunt had baked a TON of sweet potatoes for Easter and as I was being encouraged to take my weight in food home with me yesterday Kath’s Nutty Vanilla Sweet Potato & Kale Soup immediately flashed in my head.

Tonight I re-created Kath’s soup but with the addition of Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Onion. It was just as delish as the last time I made it and was truly the perfect way to use up the baked sweet potatoes.
With the soup I also had 2 small piece of Publix Whole Wheat Toast that I accidentally let go to long in the toaster.

I had been toting around one of Jasmine’s Chocolate Chip Coconut Blondie with me all weekend and as I was unpacking my traveling food stash I knew this was going to be my dessert this evening.

It was slightly smooshed, which honestly made it a little better.
Now I am off to finish up some laundry and unload the dish washer. Could my Monday night be anymore exciting? lol

Hey, you could be doing homework
Yummy din din!
that soup looks so good! and I am a HUGE pure bar fan, and I don’t like Lara bars too much! I think lots of food tastes better smooshed! I used to love smooshed wonderbread and bologna sandwiches(eek I can’t believe I just admitted that!)
PURE BARS!!!!! I EAT THEM EVERYDAY!!!!
Oh wow, totally want to try those Pure bars!
Onions – oh my!
Glad you still liked the soup
I’ve never seen PURE bars near me
glad to hear they were good!
So glad you liked it!!!
I have mixed feelings on the Pure Bars, glad you liked it! That soup looks so good!
I really, really want to make that soup! It sounds so good and I definitely get soup envy every time I see it!
Mmmmmm, I’ve been meaning to make Kath’s soup! It looks so tasty.
That last line is SO Chandler Bing
Mmm Purebars are my favorite =) The Chocolate Brownie one especially, it’s so dence and fudgy.
The blondie looks amazing !
ahh i desperately want to try a pure bar!! that blondie looks soooooooooooooo good!!
What are the ingredients in Pure bars? Are they heavily date-based like the Lara bars?
That is an awesomely huge blondie.
I should try them! I’ve been seeing them around much more. Blondie? yes please.
mmm, sp soup!
PURE bars are awesome! I have a ton from VEGGIEGIRL!
That blondie looks so yummy!
I thought the same thing about that bar….that it tasted like a Little Debbie brownie.
You could have spent your Monday night with me at the rays game!
jealous of the pure bar! why can’t we find them around here? i mean, really?!
oh that bar looks so good! mm
looks like you missed out on a fun night (according to Derek’s comment)
that sweet potato kale soup looks really nice and hearty – I think i’m gong to make that sometime this week. Everything I have ever made per your recipes has been amazing!
hope you have a great night =)
Yeah for some reason, I don’t have any desire to try these bars. They don’t seen that different from Larabars, which I like but don’t make my heart sing like they do for others.
That blondie, on the other hand…I’d be all over that
thanks for the review of the pure bar…I have a chocolate brownie one sitting in my cabinet and i too have been a little scared to try it!
Love the leaf bowl!
PureBar recently bestowed on me a sampler and so far i am a fan! i’ve only tried the cranberry orange, but it reminded me of a Larabar (which i also really like) yet had slightly more complex flavors and a bit more staying power.
Holy cow – that blondie looks so good!! Thanks for the PureBar review
hi all -
I am attending a co-workers birthday lunch today, and she chose “Five Guys Burgers and Fries” (http://www.fiveguys.com/menu.aspx)! The menu is VERY limited and the nutritional facts (posted on the site) are not pretty. Any suggestions on what I should order without looking like the group health freak?
Thanks!
Glad you liked the Pure Bar. I must admit that I did not for some reason, and I still can’t figure out why. Something about taste.
It’s interesting to see how different our tastebuds are!
Never heard of PURE bars but it looks and sounds good! Thanks for the review!!
The blondie looks marvelous!!
No way – I made that soup last night too! I also paired it with the biscuits you made last time. We must be on a wavelength.
SO GOOD! I like your addition of sundried tomatoes – that would be really good. I loved the soup made straight from the recipe, but I think it will be fun to play with in the future!
Ah, I must try that soup.
And I ? your bowl!
Hey Meghann, this is a random question…Where do you get your running shorts/spandex? In your race picture you, your sister, and caitlin had them on, and they look really comfortable.
Thanks!
