Easter Sunday

by Meghann on April 12, 2009

Happy Easter everyone!

It has been a non-stop day for me that started at 7:30 this morning when I awoke in Tampa. I had to book it to the other side of the state to spend Easter with my family so I made sure to wake up extra early to enjoy a nice breakfast with Derek.

I taught him how to make Waffle French Toast, where you basically use eggos in the place of bread for French Toast.

I had Strawberries on top of mine with a nice juicy Pear on the side.

I was excited to be able to drive home to spend Easter with my family. It’s actually the first Easter I have been home in 6 years! For some reason Easter was never a big enough holiday in my head to make the long drive home, but this year since I live so close and all four of my siblings were going to be in town I knew I had to be there.

My parents had made each of an Easter Basket to enjoy. I love Easter Baskets!

Mine had a Dove Dark Chocolate Bunny, Sour Patch Kids, a couple of eggs filled with assorted chocolates and 2 of my favoritest scones in the whole world. My parents know me so well!!

Of course I had to dig into my basket for a little snack. :)

I had about 1/4 of a Scone, my Chocolate Bunny’s Head and a mini Sugar Cookie.

This year the whole family was getting together at my Grandma’s House for Easter Lunch. My Grandma baked a ham and everyone brought a side dish.

I filled my plate to the brim with some amazing grub. I liked how there were plenty of veggies to choose from, I just wish they didn’t taste like they were all covered in butter.

I enjoyed a Sam Adams Winter Lager while chatting with the family.

DSCN0046.JPG

I also had a homemade Peanut Butter Cookie and a small piece of Carrot Cake for dessert.

Kelly and I had fun telling out 15.4 mile Trail Race Tale.

She says she is a little sore, but recovering just fine. I think I almost have her talked into running the Disney Marathon with me in January. ;)

After dessert it was time to hide eggs for the little ones.

Can you get any cuter then this?

My Dad thought it would be fun to have an Adult Easter Egg Hunt as well.

DSCN0078.JPG

No eggs needed for this one.

DSCN0079.JPG

I did manage to steal a Reeses Egg from one of the younger one’s easter basket.

DSCN0066.JPG

I may have managed to steal a couple more as well. ;)

I was stuffed the rest of the day and around 8:00 when I was ready for a light dinner all I wanted was Almond Butter.

DSCN0081.JPG

I slathered Almond Butter on a Whole Wheat English Muffin with Strawberries on top and had an Orange and Carrots on the side with a dollop of Almond Butter. It was exactly what I was craving.

I hope every one had a wonderful Easter! My eyes are drooping and I am in desperate need of some sleep. I was surprised how great my legs felt today, I am actually very excited to get up tomorrow and complete an easy 4 miles run.

Good Night Everyone!

The Runner Who Ate Everything in Sight

by Meghann on April 12, 2009

Looking back at the photos of what I ate today I think its easy to tell I ran a 15.4 mile race this morning. I have been snacking like crazy, stuffing my mouth all day and it took an enormous, delicous dinner to finally put a cork in me.

It all started with 1/2 of Pear Derek gave me when I arrived at his apartment.

DSCN0014.JPG

Then as we headed out the door I had one of Abbie’s Doughnut Holes.

DSCN0015.JPG

It was around 3:00 at this time and I knew dinner was still a few hours off so we stopped at Publix and I got a Veggie Wrap.

DSCN0017.JPG

I had the Veggie Wrap with Swiss Cheese, Onions, Banana Peppers, Jalapenos, Tomato, Olives, Lettuce, Honey Mustard, & Vinegar.

They were sadly out of Whole Wheat wraps and I have to say I was not a fan of the plain one. It tasted like a flour tortilla and was a bit tough for my taste. I could have lived without the actual wrap of the wrap. Yuck.

Derek’s Cousin was having a birthday party for her son at a bowling alley so we dropped by and bowled two games.

DSCN0018.JPG

After bad mouthing my bowling skills I end up bowling 2 strikes right off the bat and end the game with a total of 4 strikes & 2 spares for a total of 133!! I think that was a new record!! Unfortunately Derek’s Bro accidentally deleted the stats before I could take a proof photo of the 4 strikes, but I still managed to grab one of my score!

Since it was a birthday party there was cookie cake! I had a small square to help celebrate. :)

DSCN0022.JPG

Derek and I then went out to dinner to celebrate his 25th Birthday that actually took place on Wednesday. We went to his favorite steak place in Tampa, Charleys.

DSCN0026.JPG

(Though I have argued with him many times that Berns is better ;) )

We started with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon that Derek had selected.

DSCN0028.JPG

Our meals cam with House Salads, that I enjoyed with my first piece of fresh sourdough bread.

DSCN0029.JPG

For the main meal I ordered the Tuna, Rare.

DSCN0030.JPG

The Tuna came out double the size of what’s on my plate. I gave half to Derek and he gave me a small piece of his NY Strip. Also on the plate is another piece of Sourdough Bread and some of the Asparagus side dish we split.

Derek could not even put into words how happy he was with his birthday steak dinner. lol

DSCN0032.JPG

After dinner we tracked down a TCBY. I love TCBY, but there are none near me!

  DSCN0034.JPG

I had a junior size cup with 1/2 Peanut Butter & 1/2 White Chocolate Macadamia Nut FroYo with Reeses on top. YUM!!!

Derek and I made a deal that we would see each of the movies one of wanted to see this weekend and next. It just happened that the Hannah Montana Movie worked out perfectly with our time frame this weekend. :)

I’m not a big fan of the TV show, but the previews for the movie really intrigued me. There were the moments of plain stupidity, but overall the story line was great and it was actually well acted. If you are looking for a cute movie to see I would actually consider seeing it!

My legs are a little sore now, I think some Yoga for Runners is in my near future. Happy Easter everyone!
