I am very HAPPY to announce that all of the highest bidders in the Blogging Bake Sale have been contacted and have made their wonderful donations. Now its all up to the many generous bakers out there to start baking up the treats and sending them around the country. π
In fact one of the baked goods will be heading very far out of the country.
I was very honored to receive a bid on Monday from Captain Sarah A of the United States Marine Corps. She is currently stationed in Iraq and apparently an avid blog reader.. I felt honored that even though she is halfway around the world fighting for our country she took a little time out of her day to donate to my cause.
Sarah, I hope you enjoy Whitneyβs Granola as I know you are looking forward to a homemade treat! π
As the donations came in yesterday on my TnT website I noticed my total money raised go over and beyond my goal landing comfortable at a grand total of $4,731!!!
Thatβs a lot of money and I seriously have you all to thank! This money is going to a really great cause and I know will help so many others. Now, any money that was raised over my inital goal of $3900 will 100% go directly to the Leukemia & Lyphoma Society. How cool is that?
Now all there is left to do is run that Marathon at the end of May!! Whose pumped? Iβm pumped!!!
Mid morning I snacked on a Quaker Simple Harvest Bar.
For lunch I had one of my favorite creations that I feel like has been forever since I last enjoyed.
A Baked Sweet Potato covered in Black Beans, Jalapeno Diced Tomatoes, Jalapenos and Swiss Cheese.
Oh yes, it was as good as it looks! Such a great flavor combination going on here and so many things that are good for you in one lovely meal. π
Then when I got back to my desk I decided I needed to eat the last Vegan Chocolate Chunk cookie Vani had sent me, you know before βit went bad.β
And you best believe I inhaled all of those lovely crumbs that are in the picture as well. I am so glad there was only one cookie left because after the first I was really craving another and know if it were available that it would have been gone as well. π
That cookie looks amazing!
Ahh- such an accomplishment π and awesome lunch!! Happy happy to derek, as well!
Have a great wednesday!!

Congrats on all of your success! It is very inspiring, indeed! I think that’s amazing that someone stationed in Iraq reads the blog – Sarah, stay safe!!!!!
Meghann,
This is SO inspiring to me. I can’t imagine how much time and dedication you have to put in to host a bake sale like this. Your hard work and dedication is going to SUCH a great cause. My younger brother suffered but was treated from Hodgkins Lymphoma. This organization is near and dear to my heart and as i’ve said before to you, my other brother is also training with TnT for the Boston Marathon. It is so great to see your passion to help save lives!! THANKS FOR BEING AWESOME! Also, I think i’m coming to Orlando in May with my parents and I am going to have to let you know if I do so we can have a blogger meet up! π
Congratulations, Meghann! You did such a great job raising money for and exceeding your goal. You should definitely be proud, it’s quite inspiring! Now, you’re going to ROCK that marathon!
That lunch idea makes me SOOO happy! Thank you for posting it.

I am thrilled that you reached and surpassed your goal. I know how scary signing those committment forms is. It is a testament to your creativity and how much we all appreciate your dedication to the blog. Now the hard part is over, the marathon will be easy peasy.
