Last night, as I was surrounded by friends, alcohol and food, I realized that I am truly happy at the place of my life I am at right now. I made a smart decision moving to Orlando and it has truly paid off. The past year I have made some wonderful friends that make everything so much better. Oddly enough I we it all to the food blog.

Melissa and her boy, Brad, made the trip up from no man’s land last night to join in our festivities. Melissa and I immediately started putting together a grand dinner. Of course, most of the credit goes to her as she did all the work and the recipe was from her cookbook.

Melissa made a Vegetarian Tamale Cassarole, which actually ended up being Vegan.

It was basically a delicious blend of beans, seasonings, and veggies layered between polenta. I topped my plate with a little spicy salsa. It was very, very yummy. Melissa made a TON so I expect to have left overs for a while with this one.

Melissa brought with her a great Peanut Butter & Jelly Cookie Cake.

Even though I was stuffed, I had to have a slice to try it out.

It was SOOOOO good!!! I warmed it up in the microwave which game it that warm, gooey consistency. Yum!
After dinner & dessert, we all got dressed up and headed out to the infamous Wine Room in Winter Park.

The last time I was here (back in December) we had such a great time I knew not to expect anything less this time around.

At the Wine room you get a Card you can load with cash and then travel to each of the wine stations and select 1oz, 2.5oz, or full glass pours.

As always I stuck to the cheap $1.50 wines as the $$ wine add up pretty quickly.

Caitlin joined us as well a couple of friends.

The boys thought it would be a great idea to order a cheese platter at one point. I enjoyed a few nibble of the cheese and apple slices. Yum!

We headed out around midnight and i fell asleep in the car ride home. I am such an old woman sometimes. Of course I was wide awake by the time we got home to show down on some of Melissa’s PB&J Bars.

That’s right, Derek and I totally got caught in the act. I can’t hide anything from you guys.
After my belly was full on cookie, I passed out and was still able to wake up for a nice run at 7:30 this morning. Melissa and I had orginially planned to go 8 miles, but half way through her quads were killing her and I really had to potty so we headed home. We ended up running 4.5 miles, which was perfectly fine by me.
Before the run I had a Cinnamon Raisin Gnu Bar

Melissa’s boo was kind enough to make us Whole Wheat Waffles as we showered.

I topped mine with a little bit of syrup and Cinnamon Apples.

I also had a small bowl of Pineapple, Grapes & the last of my Chobani.

We have big plans today that involve Ikea, Whole Foods, and what ever other trouble we can get ourselves in to. Have a great Sunday everyone!!
