Why, Hello Level 3

This morning it was time to take it up a notch with my 30 Day Shred and move it up to Level 3.

I can not believe I have been doing the Shred for 20 days now. I mean I haven’t been doing it exactly everyday..i.e. yesterday… but I feel like I have been consistent enough to see a difference. My stomach is toner, my back is stronger and my arms have a little definition. The results are pretty amazing in such a short amount of time. I guess Jillian isn’t kidding when she tells me this will replace ‘hours of phoning it in at the gym.’ LOL

Level 3 was definitely more of a challenge, but I really welcomed the change. The extra jumps in all of the moves really made a difference, as well as the addition of the hand weights to the cardio portion. And who knew I am incapable of doing a full sit up? I sadly had to resort to the ‘beginner’ version. I guess I spend all my time with crunches, I never realized how hard a full on sit up actually is!

After Level 3 I decided to keep the theme of strengthening my core and completed the 20 minute Core Yoga download on yogadownload.com. This yoga work out is a killer and I could really feel it in my core when I was finished.

I had the biggest craving for Vanilla Greek Yogurt this morning so I made a great big bowl of cereal to appease it.

My bowl contained 1/2 cup Kashi Honey Sunshine, 1/2 cup 365 Brand Cinnasnaps, 1/2 cup Good Life Cinnamon Granola, 1 generous dollop Vanilla Chobani, 1 Kiwi, and 2 Strawberries.

It was exactly what I was craving. Yum! 🙂

Now its time to get my Monday started. I have quite a bit of reviews for you guys this week, so be prepared for some fun exciting new products, product discounts, and maybe even a giveaway. It’s going to be an exciting week in Graduate Meghann land!

Baker Spotlight…

Thanks to my blog I have had the pleasure of meeting lots of new people and making great friends along the way. One of those great friends had been Melissa from Trying to Heal.

When I first started reading Melissa’s blog last fall she lived all the way on the other coast, but she eventually followed a dream job that took her all the way to central Florida, less then 2 hours from where I live. We went from being blog friends to instant real life friends and I am so happy to have her as a friend and constant supporter.

Melissa hands down is also a wonderful baker and has even tried to teach me to glory of her ways, but there’s no way I could ever recreate when she produces. I had the distinct pleasure of first being introduced to her powers when she sent a Christmas care package last December and again when she brought me homemade Pumpkin Rolls and Pumpkin Muffins a couple of weeks ago. It has all been incredible and I know on April 6th her addition to the Baker’s roll is going to draw quite a crowd. 🙂

Great job sticking to the SHRED. I probably would have given up by now, before Jililan could tell me that I can’t do a real sit-up. Props to you!

full sit-ups are H-A-R-D, especially because everyone has forgotten about them in favor of the crunch!

i don’t know if I can do a full sit up, either! i do love this bodypump class my husband and I have been going to, though – I can definitely see the muscles in my arms, which is awesome!

LOL at your direct quote from Jillian. I sortof fell off the 30 day shred bandwagon.. i started about a month ago but have only gotten to the middle of level 2, i think i’ll start again.

I’m still on level 2 of Shred, I am definitely not ready for level 3! I’m glad to hear you’re seeing results already – I’ve only been doing it a week and sometimes I think I see a change but then I figure I’m just imagining it!

I had strawberries this AM with cereal too…so good! I don’t do the shred every day but I think I have started to notice a difference, especially in my arms!

I just did level 1 yesterday and WOW my legs and butt are sore haha

I was always afraid to do those videos because I didn’t want too much muscle but if it’s a quick (fun) way to beat the gym, I’m in! I get so bored doing ellipical.

I’m loving the Shred too,and I’m only on level one! For me, it’s “real” push ups that I just cannot do…between the shred and yoga and gym time you’d think I’d have the strength for them, but it’s still “girl” push ups for me!

I love level 3, this week I am devoting myself to less running and more Jillian! As I taper before the marathon, I feel like I need to get stronger in my core and arms, so you know how great Jillian is in kicking your BUTT in both! Love the breaky girl, and yeah for MELISSA! I can’t wait for the bake sale, I have family members that want to bid!

I’m going to get that DVD today! I can’t remember, did you take measurements before you started the Shred challenge? I’m curious to see how it’s changed your body. I think I’ll do that!

I started running a couple months ago and run 3 miles on Saturdays and Sundays. Should I be doing it more often to build stamina? It’s not really getting easier for me…I have only been able to run it straight through twice but always run under 30 minutes. I ran 6 miles the other day but it always feels so hit or miss. I either do great or terrible. How do you find that balance and how often did you run when you first started out?

What cereal is that on the top (the crumbly kind that kind of looks like Grape Nuts)? Is that the granola?
