Pretzel Lunch

by Meghann on February 26, 2009

I can not thank Derek enough for the wonderful Pretzel he sent me all the way from Tampa! I decided to have the remainder to the Pretzel be the start of my lunch today.

I had to break the pretzel in pieces so it would fit in the office toaster oven, but it was well worth it to heat it up that way. The exterior was nice and crispy while the inside was chewy.

I paired the Pretzel with a cup of Amy’s Chunky Tomato Bisque.

I felt like I was having pizza sticks when I dipped the pretzel into the Tomato Soup. It was an awesome combination.

I also had a Reduced Fat String Cheese that made for great dipping as well.

I got a few comments from co-workers when they realized my lunch was a giant pretzel, it made them all laugh. But seriously these pretzels are a meal in themselves and a darn good one at that. :)

Thanks again, Derek for your Pretzel gift!!

More Blogging Bake Sale Raves

I just wanted to share some more Blogging Bake Sale loving. I received these e-mails from both Joleen and Ashley who are enjoying their Bake Sale purchases.

Stacey -

Just wanted to thank you for the great challah and adorable packaging! I toasted some as soon as I tore open the box and was really impressed! It made great french toast this morning too – something tells me it won’t be around very long!

I  took pictures so that everyone could appreciate it but can’t seem to find the cord to upload them. Sorry about that!

Thanks again,

Joleen

Hi Meghann and Liz,

I received the blondies and they were fantastic! They are really moist and if I had not known, I would have never guessed that there was a larabar in them!  The bar gave them a great flavor that did not scream coconut, but flavored it nicely. Liz, you should seriously send that recipe to the larabar company, if you have not already. I have attached a picture of me enjoying a blondie and my dog, Jack, watching.

Thank you very much Liz, both for the blondies and the sweet card. I hope school is going well and you’re hanging in there all right.

Meghann, a big thanks to you for organizing the bake sale and for raising money for such a good cause.

Ashley

Larabar in a Blondie?!?! I think you have been holding out on us Veggie Girl! :)

Yes yes, pretzles are amazing…I also love that soup! I bought the Trader Joe’s tomato bisque and I’ll have to see how it compares to Amy’s.

Meghann – I was checking out the Disney marathons and miiiiight be interested in signing up! I’d be coming from Boston so I have other travel logistics to figure out also (and I def want to try convincing others to join me!).
I see the half is about 60% full (40% empty?)… how much more time do you think I’ll have to figure things out…?
Have you decided on the full yet?

I am still jealous of your pretzle! Maybe if I feel like avoiding home work I’ll make pretzels for some soup dipping.

Oh wow that looks great!!!!
I love pretzels!

I notice you take photos at work… do any of your coworkers ever question you? I’m a bit nervous still about taking photos at work so I always photograph my lunch at home whilst i’m making it. Any suggestions to just get over it?!

Does anyone in your life (friends espec’) ever question you?

I work in a pretty private cubicle so no one really notices, but everyone knows about the blog anyways. My friends all love the blog and always make sure I get plenty of pics of my food, in fact they always want me to take pics of their food! I’m a pretty outgoing person who always has a camera on anyways, so its really to be expected that I would start taking pictures of my food as well. :)

Oh my gosh you just reminded me of how awesome pretzels in tomato sauce are. My friend and I probably at the age of 9 discovered that snack, I haven’t had it in so long. Thanks for the fun reminder!
