Long Day of Work

by Meghann on February 17, 2009

Wow! What a day and night, I am beyond mentally exhausted! I am so glad my part in the big meeting is over for now, back to normal work tomorrow. :)

Midmorning I snacked on a thing of Cheerios and Brazil Nuts.

I was pleasantly surprised with the semi-healthy choices for lunch.

Lunch was catered by Rolly Polly. THey had this big beautiful salad topped with an array of yummy toppings and a platter of Wraps, marked with colored tooth picks so you knew what you were getting.

I filled my  plate half up with the salad and a Veggie Wrap. It was a very tasty lunch. My only complaint was all the wraps had may (YUCK!)

I also had a Peanut Butter Chocolate Heart for a sugar boost during he meeting.

The meeting went smoothly, but dragged on. I was in the room from 11:15 to 4:30 and needless to say I was mentally drained afterwards.

I immediately grabbed this Apple from the plate of snacks on my way out the door and dug in.

I ran home quickly to let Abbie out before I met my co-workers for dinner. I was very happy to find a little gift waiting for me in my mailbox.

Aimee from the Healthy Lawyer had sent me some Sugar Cookie Tea as she is not a fan and its my favorite! She also sent a couple of bars and this adorable card.

There were some chocolates too and I just had to try a piece immediately.

My working dinner took place tonight at Kobe’s Japenese Steakhouse. CIMG5349.JPG

I started out with a glass of the Cabernet and that turned into another. ;)

At the table my co-workers decided to order the famous Scorpion Flaming Drink.

Of course I wanted to be a part of the festivities, but unfortunately the drink had bananas in it so I could not drink for real, just pose for photos. :( .

The meal started with Onion Soup.

Then a ginger salad.

The best part of Japanese Steakhouses is watching the chefs cook.

SInce I’m not that big of a meat fan, I was allowed to order off the menu and had Shrimp instead of the Steak and Chicken option everyone else had. CIMG5362.JPG

I can’t believe I cleaned my plate off. I think I impressed some of my co-workers with my eating skills.CIMG5366.JPG

Even though I was studded, I couldn’t resist what I thought was my last Godiva chocolate when I got home.CIMG5369.JPG

I as so excited when I realized that wasn’t the last of my Godiva, oh no, in fact that was only the finish of my first layer!

Hello second layer of lovelies!

Yay!!! More Godiva for the rest of the week!! I’m so excited!!! :)

Alright now I’m a little buzzed from my working dinner and ready to crash! Good night everyone!! :)

Auto Lapping Obsessed

by Meghann on February 17, 2009

I am now officially obsessed with the auto-lap timer on my Garmin. It buzzes at me every mile to let me know my pace and I can adjust accordingly. It’s only second run utilizing the newly discovered feature and I swear my runs are faster then they were the week before.

Of course both runs have only been 4 miles, but it pumps me up for longer runs in the future!

Here are the split times from this morning. Notice this time my fastest mile was the second and I paced the same at Mile 1 and 4.

  • Mile 1: 9:21
  • Mile 2: 8:58
  • Mile 3: 9:03
  • Mile 4: 9:21

Overall Run Statics:

  • Distance: 4.01 miles
  • Time: 36:47
  • Avg Pace: 9:11
  • Avg HR: 166
  • Calories Burned: 387

I love how it only took me 36 minutes to run 4 miles this morning. I am at such a time crunch in the morning that I have less then an hour to run so try to keep it between 4 –5 miles. If I keep at the quicker pace then I can slowly try to add extra miles to my early runs. I love a new challenge.

My breakfast was another great motivator for my run this morning.

I made wonderful French Toast using the Oatmeal Bread Jenna made.

I topped the French Toast with the extra Egg, Strawberries, Blueberries and Sugar Free Syrup.

OMG HEAVEN!! I enjoyed and savored every bite. This bread is seriously fantastic was perfect as french toast!

Today is going to be very busy at work. I have a working lunch and a working dinner tonight. Ughh!!! Luckily these things only happen once a year. Hopefully I’ll be able to sneak some pictures of the food, I’m honestly a little scared of what’s in store as far as food goes.

What kind of food do you usually expect to see at work lunches and dinners?
