Ready for a Break

by Meghann on February 11, 2009

I can not wait to go home tonight! I feel like I have been working non-stop since I got back from Colorado and this is the first night I have no outside plans. It will be the first night to myself in a week and a half and I am dying for some along time!

I have some very exciting plans with that alone time to play with Abbie, do laundry, clean my apartment, make an amazing dinner, catch up on the good ole DVR and manage to get my google reader under 100 entries. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Only a few more hours of busy work to go!

This morning I had a pack of Almonds to tide me over.

For lunch I was dying to try some of the 9 Grain Publix Bread I bought on Sunday. I love how they sell it in half loaves so I donโ€™t feel like I will let any of the good bread go to waste.

I made a Turkey, Apple & Goat Cheese Panini with the wonderful bread.

On the side I had a Carrot with Cashew Butter.

And the rest of the Amyโ€™s Butternut Squash Soup from Monday.

Fun Links

  • Apparently my new Asics were named for a very important runner. Read the story here. Thanks to reader Amy C. for showing me this.
  • Also, Natalie wanted to make sure I didnโ€™t throw my old running shoes away as they can pollute the landfills. She gave me this great link ( www.recycledrunner.com ) where you can discover locations in your area where you can bring your old running shoes in to be recycled. How great is that? Fortunately, I plan on keeping a hold of my old shoes for when I need old shoes for a dirty job or adventure, but when i am ready to discard them I will be sure to check out that link!
  • Looks like there are a lot of you out there in need of a new sports bra! Keep the comments coming for your chance to win a Gracieโ€™s Gear Sports Bra. With Amazing Support and a little storage pocket how can it be bad?  You have until 8am EST tomorrow to leave a comment or connect to the post!

Belated Thank Yous!

In my crazy schedule this past week there have been some donations come through on my TNT page from some amazing people that I want to acknowledge!

Thank you ladies for your continuing support!

Enjoy your evening Meghann… alone time is a wonderful thing.. and it totally keeps you sane!

Thanks for posting the link… i totally have to pay it forward when it comes to lowering waste production.

I had to chuckle at your comment about getting your google reader under 100 entries.. LOL I WISH…. my problem is im a blog fanatic… let a weekend go by without me checking… 1000+ (that’s when the delete button comes in handy)

What a coincidence! Travis Landreth was one of my 10th grade religion teacher’s best friends, and he died that year. I remember my teacher having a super hard time with it. In fact he’s in that article – Craig Vanderoef. Awesome that your shoe honors him!

Hi! I also think half loaves of bread are AWESOME but hard to find. My trick is to put my bread in the freezer after a week on the counter so i can keep ’em for months. Seriously! My english muffins have kept in the freezer for…6 months. Sorry if it sounds kinda nasty but i promise it tastes just the same if you let it “thaw” back to room temp or if you pop it in a toaster. ๐Ÿ™‚ Your blog is faaaaabulous!!

I keep out workout shoes forever…I use my old ones for hiking (which is dumb since obv they’re worn out but I try to keep the new ones clean) but I still have my shoes I trained/walked The 3 Day in! Thanks for the link.

Love catch up nights!

had no idea about the landreth! there’s also the nike reuse a shoe program ๐Ÿ™‚

I always keep my bread in the fridge so that it will keep longer. I love having options (wraps, bread, pitas, english muffins) and there is NO WAY I could eat it all before it went bad otherwise!

I totally feel ya on the alone time! I live a mile from my boyfriend (which I LOVE) but 2 nights a week he works at a ski shop in town and I really LIVE for Tuesdays and Thursdays! I can get in a long workout, make myself a delicious healthy meal of what I’m craving, veg out in front of the tv/blogs, paint my nails, etc. It’s so nice to just be with yourself sometimes!! Have a wonderful night ๐Ÿ™‚

Half loaves of bread are a great idea. I always keep my bread in the fridge/freezer because I can’t get through it before it goes bad (ah, the perils of being single). You sandwich combo looks great!

17 Missy (Missy Maintains) February 11, 2009 at 3:22 pm

18 Mel February 11, 2009 at 3:36 pm

That sammie looks good–I never remember that apple is a good addition.
