3:30am Wake Up Call

by Meghann on January 30, 2009

I have to make this quick, I need to get bed so I can be up at 3:30 tomorrow morning!

When I got home from work I was hungry and when I’m hungry I get creative so I toasted up a Multi Grain Waffle and topped it with Cashew Butter.

I have no idea how those mini PB Cups got on there. I swear they just jumped out of their little container on their own free will and onto my waffle. :)

Oh boy that was a good waffle!

While at home I also had a nice surprise waiting for me in the mailbox….

My Whole Foods winning from the BSI contest.. Thanks Biz!

I made it to my Parent’s house in time for dinner, unfortunately there’s not many great places to eat for dinner in their small town. I mean there are some good places, but that’s because its all fried or BBQed… blah. On a last minute decision we decided to go to the local German place, Pumpernickles.

I haven’t been there in years and was interested to see how the menu looked to my new eyes. Apparently It would have looked better to my old eyes. Again, everything was fried or sauteed and there was not one vegetarian option, that is unless you count the ‘salad.’

I did what I could and ordered the Turkey Ruben with the Thousand Island dressing on the side.

It had been a while since I had a ruben and it was very good. I used the dressing sparingly by just dipping my fork in it and dabbing it on the spread. I also took about 1/3 of the turkey out of the sandwhich.

I also had some mixed Veggies on the side.

I ate all the squash and none of the bell peppers.

I also had a couple of bites of my parent’s potato salad and an Andes After Dinner Mint.

And you can’t forget dessert! I had a small bowl of PB FroYo when I got home.

My Sister gave me an early birthday present since I won’t get to see her on my actual birthday.

Isn’t that the cutest shirt ever?!?!?! It is so ME. :) I’m going to wear it on the plane tomorrow.

Alright I need to get to sleep ASAP. Good Night everyone! The next time you hear from me I will be in Colorado!

Less then Three More hours..

by Meghann on January 30, 2009

…but, really whose counting? Oh Wait, I AM! :)

In other news my Dad joined Facebook today (Hi Dad!). How many others out there are friends with your parents on Facebook? What about grandparents?

None of my Grandparents have jumped on the Facebook bandwagon yet, but my parents have taken a liking to it. My Mom enjoys reading what I’m up to, what my friends are saying about me and skimming all the photos I’m tagged in. Since I have no secrets with my parents, if you know me you know I hate secrets and am awful at keeping them (I’m such a blabber mouth), I welcome them to Facebook and only wish they would have joined sooner. You know how many times they told me to ‘e-mail them copies of photos;’ having them steal them from my Facebook is sooo much easier.

So Welcome to Facebook Dad, I’m sure Mom is glad to finally have you stop leaving funny comments under her name! :)

First of all I sampled the other Quaker True Delight’s Bar I first reviewed yesterday.

Today I tried the Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond Flavor. As good as this was I think preferred the Honey Roasted Cashew Mixed Berry bar from yesterday. This one just had too much of an overwelming fruit flavor that I don’t care for in bars. But if you like fruity bars then you will probably enjoy this one. It’s just a personal preference.

Lunch was had at my desk since I am leaving on the earlier side.

My desk is crazy messy at the moment so please forgive me!

For the main part of my meal I started with a bed of Spinach that I topped with Green Onions, Left Over Roasted Veggies, and a big glob of Jalapeno Sabra Hummus (which are 2 for $5 this week at Publix!)

The hummus had a great kick to it. YUM! And of course you can never go wrong with roasted veggies, they are always still yummy the next day.

On the side I had a Tangerine and a piece of Whole Wheat Toast.

I always consider a lunch a success when I get some smirks from co-workers as I prepare it in the kitchen. One co-worker was particularly interested in the hummus on the roasted veggies, I told him to trust me it was good!

Now I have some work to finish up here, then I’m heading to the parent’s house to drop Abbie off for a week of play with her Uncle Scooby.
