The Results Are In

by Meghann on January 24, 2009

Since the race this morning was actually a 5.2K (3.2 miles) I knew my timing would be a little funky. I basically pushed it to get a great time at the 5k distance marker and more or less jogged the final .1 miles.

Right as I was passing the 5K distance I saw Melissa come up right beside me. It was a big debate on which one of us would have won if it had been a 5k distance. Luckily, they chip timed the 5k distance and posted the results in the afternoon. πŸ˜‰

I am happy to say my official 5K this morning was 25:05 while Melissa’s was 25:06.. In Your Face!!! haha Just Kidding! Even though I beat Melissa to 3.1 miles by a second she still wooped my butt in the extra .1 mile of the race. So I guess we both have something to gloat about. All is fun with a little friendly competition. πŸ™‚

Besides the race we have definitely had a food filled wonderful day.

First we hit up Super Target as Melissa had never been to one.. shocker! We tried a few samples and loaded out baskets up with goodies. Unfortunately we did hold up the line a little when we tried to purchased recalled Clif Bars that were still on the shelf… stupid salmonella.

After Target we headed to a restaurant I have seen featured multiple time on Jenna’s Blog and have been dying to try.. Press 101.

The place was swanky and the menu looked amazing! I was really excited to try it out.

I ordered the Grilled Vegetable Panini and I actually remembered to ask for no butter on the bread this time.

It was seriously a work of art and tasted as great as it looked! Yum!

I would definitely hit this place up again if it wasn’t all the way on the other side of town. πŸ™

Thanks for the recommendation Jenna! It agree it was delish!

After lunch Melissa and I had more foodie fun at Whole Foods and now we’re all set to bake up some goodies. I can’t wait!

More Thanks

A special THANKS to Tracey and Justy2003 for their wonderful donations this morning!

You guys ROCK!!!

Hey Meghann!

I’ve been following your blog for awhile, and haven’t commented yet! πŸ™‚ Awesome job on your 5.2K!! I had a question about your Garmin because I’m also in training for a marathon (in March). Do you really think it’s beneficial? It’s a huge purchase that I’ve been thinking about for a long time, but wanted a couple of opinions! πŸ™‚

Man, I think I need to move to Florida!

I don’t have a fro-yo place, Super Target, OR Whole Foods!

Sounds like a fun day πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to see the baked goodies!

in my face…hahahaha…but i still beat you overall! >P j/k!

21 Meghann January 24, 2009 at 9:23 pm

Hey Krista – The Garmin is quite an investment, but I have to say its worth it. I am in love! It was awesome in my race today, I was able to know exactly where I was in my pace and how much I had left. Its great when I’ve been running on my own as well. It makes me keep at my pace and I know exactly how far I’ve gone instead of guesstimating on There are also so many million other programs I have yet to test out in the garmin. Trust me you won’t regret getting it!

Great job with the race! That panini is making my mouth water! Anything with veggies and melted goat cheese will do that!

23 Marianne January 26, 2009 at 3:49 pm

Congrats on the race! Although your veggie sandwich looks excellent, I spy a Turkey & Brie one on there that I so would have ordered!
