A Date has Been Set

My mini heater –aka Abbie – kept me nice and toasty again last night. She may be a pain in the butt in the summer time but that extra heat works wonders in the winter.

Since I am a big believer in taking a rest day from running before any race –big or small – I went with the Yoga route this morning. I have been eyeing the Yoga for Runners on YogaDownload.com for a while, but was a little scared to try an ‘intermediate’ yoga session. Yesterday I was inspired by Kath’s review of the session and decided to give it a try myself. I figured if it was to hard I could easily stop it and try something new.

I found the podcast on Itunes, which was really helpful as it played with a slideshow of pose references. I took the session at my own pace and really worked at stretching my leg muscles with the multiple lunge esque poses the session taught.

In the end I felt great and all of the synergy from the session really has me pumped for my race tomorrow! You better watch out Caitlin, Gina, and Melissa you’re all going down!…lol… 🙂

Breakfast this morning was a little bit of a weekday morning indulgence.

When I made my Blackberry Waffles on Saturday, I made an extra and froze it for a weekday treat. This morning I took the waffle and popped it in the toaster just as I would an eggo. They came out warm, crispy and delicious.

I topped my pre-made waffle with Strawberries, Blackberries and Sugar-Free Syrup.  Yum!

I also want to thank Tina for her shout out about the Blogging Bake Sale on her blog this morning. I got quite a few e-mails this morning from people ready to buy!

I do have exciting news that we have a confirmed date for the Blogging Bake Sale!

The sale will take place the first week in February! Mark your calendars!

I hope everyone is excited as I am. I have a lot of great bakers willing to donate some amazing goods here’s a few hints of what’s to come… Chocolate Pumpkin…. Husband’s Bread…. Granola….Peanut Butter Ginger….Banana Oatmeal….Macaroons…… and sooo much more….

last week i ran 9 miles and came right home and did the yoga for runners and i felt great afterwards, i love that site.

You’ve gotten me yoga-spired again! I tried last weekend to do a yoga download but it failed, grrr. I will see if I have better luck with the Yoga for Runners one. Have fun at your race tomorrow.

I did yoga this morning too! Just a quick morning stretch before the day, but definitely amazing! I think I’m going to try to make it a daily thing, even if it’s just for 15 minutes. I love yoga!

I’m excited that you’re racing tomorrow too! I’ll be thinking about you guys when I’m running my 5K here in Gainesville!

I made my donation this afternoon! I lost a friend to Leukemia related complications a few years back, so this is a cause that means a lot to me. 🙂

Great idea freezing a homemade waffle! I am dying to get a waffle maker, but for now Kashi waffles are not a bad substitute 🙂
