A Blogging Visitor

by Meghann on January 23, 2009

Look who came to visit!
DSCN2162.JPG That’s right Melissa from Trying to Heal is blogging away beside me! She’s taking a break from all of her bird watching to run a race with us tomorrow. She has also promised to bake with me tomorrow since I am seriously lacking in those skills. I can’t wait!
While I was counting down to the weekend this afternoon I decided to have a snack to hold me over until dinner.
I had plans for dinner at 7:00 and discovered I can not make it that long with out a little snack so I had this apple to hold me over. It was fresh, delicious and just what I needed!
When I got home afterwork I swung by my mailbox to discover I had a package waiting for me.
The wonderful Heather from Hangry Pants and I did a blogger trade. I sent her some requested Flat Out Wraps and other goodies, and in return she sent me some Trade Joe goodies.

DSCN2136.JPG She sent a wonderful array of goodies including:

  • Ricotta Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Barney Butter Sample (!!)
  • Mini Peanut Butter Cups
  • Trade Joe Bars
  • Pecan Praline Granola
  • Lemon Curd
  • Doggie Treat for Abbie
  • and a wonderful note that listed everything on so I can copy it for the blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Of course I had to dig on in and try a couple of the bite sized cookies.

YUM! Those are some real chocolate chunks in there. I love it!

Abbie loved her treats as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was so excited to finally get to meet Melissa tonight. I have really become a fan of meeting other bloggers and each one feels like I’m meeting a long lost friend. Tonight was no different. Melissa is just as sweet and caring as she appears in her blog and it felt like we had known each other for years.

After Melissa arrived we met Caitlin at Ethos for a fun dinner.

Ethos is a Vegan resteraunt that Caitlin and I have been dying to try ever since we met. We have planned to go multiple times before, but for one reason or another the plans always fall through. Tonight, however we were determined and finally able to enjoy the vegan eats.

I ordered the Sheep’s Pie which was essentially Mashed Potatoes with some veggies thrown in.

It was good, but a little over loaded on the taters, I would have preferred more veggies. I ate about 3/4 of the dish and a slice of the yummy bread. Though, I feel like i have been overloading on bread lately.

Ethos is actually fairly close to my office. I think I am going to try to talk some co-workers into eating lunch here sometime next week just to give them a giggle on eating complete vegan meals. ๐Ÿ™‚

After the meal we were all craving something sweet and when I mentioned a yummy Fro-Yo place nearby, Melissa squealed in delight. Apparently they don’t have FroYo in the

I ordered the mini Chocolate FroYo with Strawberries, Raspberries and Granola. YUM!

And I was finally able to get a photo of the three of us together.. seriously it had been my mission all night.

Now I’m chilaxing and prepping for my race tomorrow. It’s going to be early to rise for me.

And of course I can’t say good night until I give THANKS to the following peeps for their generous donations!

Especially to my Mommy and Daddy who made a very generous donation tonight! ๐Ÿ™‚

Keep the donations coming! We’re at $750.96 and have no where to go but up! I know we can do it!

Have a great weekend everyone!

A Date has Been Set

January 23, 2009

My mini heater โ€“aka Abbie โ€“ kept me nice and toasty again last night. She may be a pain in the butt in the summer time but that extra heat works wonders in the winter. Since I am a big believer in taking a rest day from running before any race โ€“big or small โ€“ more ยป
