Sorry for the delayed post, we had a minor set back on the way home….
Caitlin’s tire went flat right when we got on the highway back to Orlando. We were able to pull over safely on the side of the road, unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for the tow truck guy to come fix it. The little adventure got me home well past bed time so I am going to make this post quick.
This morning I snacked on a nut combination of Pumpkin Seeds, Brazil Nuts & Pecans while finishing up my short week at work.
I met Caitlin, her Mother & Maid of Honor at Dandelion Cafe for lunch. It’s an adorable vegan cafe near downtown that I do not get to eat at near enough.
When I arrived they had already ordered a Hummus Platter, which I happily started nibbling on as well.
I ordered the Fakin Lettuce & Tomato with a side of Fruit.
I find it hilarious their idea of a ‘side of fruit’ is half an apple…lol
The Fakin Lettuce & Tomato was actually really yummy.
Artisan organic tempeh, seasoned in house, is paired with basil aioli & ‘mater slices for a new twist on an old favorite.
It was a great light lunch to hold us over for the mid afternoon Bridal Shower.
Cailtin’s Aunt threw a lovely Wine and Cheese Bridal shower for the future Mrs.
When we first arrived she had a great spread of cheese, crackers and various spiced nuts.
I had a couple of the cheese and crackers and a good amount of nuts through out the party. I really enjoyed the Wasabi Almonds. They had a great kick to them that had me coming back for more.
With the cheese I enjoyed the wine.
I had a total of three glasses of this a very spicy Syrah.
Caitlin’s cousin designed the table of food. She could easily pass for Martha Stewart at the age of 12.
The light lunch didn’t hold me very well, so I was starving for good food. I happily filled my plate up with goodies.
On my plate I had a Funfetti Cupcake, Artichoke dip w/ crackers, Quiche, Chicken Salad Cresant, Strawberries & Grapes.
After the food Caitlin opened some presents
and we made her this bouquet of bows for her rehearsal dinner.
There were games & reminiscing as well, then it was time to leave. Well at least our attempt to leave, we were were less then 10 minutes away when the tire blew.
We all were pretty hungry waiting for the tire guy so when the left over cupcakes made an appearance I decided to eat my emergency Clif Bar.
I had one bite and could barely handle it, this bar was awful… yuck! Oddly enough the bad taste in my mouth stripped my hunger away and not even the cupcakes were appealing to me at this point. I managed to make it the rest of the way home cupcake free.
Eventually we did get the donut and were on our way back to Orlando.
I just got home and am beat. Thankfully I don’t have to work tomorrow.. YAY!! I’m thinking an early, lakeside run is in my future. Good night everyone!!!
