Lunch & Learn

by Meghann on December 9, 2008

I was invited to a Lunch & Learn today sponsored by one of our company’s vendor. It was a free meal so I went and tried to learn, but in general I’m not the biggest fan of the Lunch and Learn concept. Granted I love anything where food is involved, but when the food came I was concentrating so much on eating that I was not paying attention at all to what the guy was saying. I also felt a little rude chowing down while he was trying to give a lecture. Oh well, I already knew most of the things he was educating us on so the lunch ended up being the highlight anyways.

The event took place at a cute restaurant downtown called Citrus. I was a curious on how the menu would look and was pleasantly surprised to see a set menu with about 4 options for the entree.

They started the meal with a Black Bean Soup. (Sorry for the blurry picture I was trying to snap these incognito)

I was planning on only having a few bites to sample this, but it ended up being really good I ate all of it.

For the main meal I selected the Grilled Maui Maui Sandwich.

I ate it sans bun. I had just a few of the fries, they were really salty and not very appealing.

For dessert they brought out Ceme Brulee. Fortunately, I am not a fan of it so I politely declined.

While working this morning I did have a snack of Graham Cracker and Apple Sauce around 10:00.

When I opened the container of Apple Sauce I somehow managed to spray myself with it. 🙂

Wow that Lunch & Learn to a hug chink out of my day, its already 3:00! Only 2 more hours ago until I’m reading New Moon again. 🙂

Hi Meghann,

I stumbled across your blog while updating my various feeds in my google reader and I must say that I find it very enjoyable! keep up the good work… I love reading about other women who find it hard to get some sort of activity into a hectic work week.. we’re all in the struggle together… Oh btw when you’re done with new moon we totally have to have a discussion…. I read the entire twilight series in 6 days because it was so darn addictive. I want to know your thoughts on New Moon.

All this talk about these Twilight books! I may need to grab them to read over my Christmas break. I’m going to be home for 2 weeks and have no idea what I’m going to do because I won’t have school or work!!! These may just need to occupy some of my time 🙂
