Last night was definitely a blast from the past.
Within the first 5 minutes of walking into Tallahassee’s trademark bar Bullwinkles I ran into three people I went to college with and had not seen in forever. Throughout the night I also met up with a guy I dated junior year, my best girl friends and my amazing Sister. It was a great night. It did not even faze me when we ended up leaving at 2:00am, usually I would be dead tired at this hour, but I was on such an adrenaline rush I could have stayed up all night.
Bullwinkles was packed! They have this great open back deck, but unfortunately last night we were having some down pours. Everyone was squished under all of the awnings. It made for some very close up pictures.
And of course everyone was pretty much soaked by the end of the night. But no one cared.
I ordered a Vodka Cranberry Sour and nursed it all night. I kept casually pouring little bits out through out the evening to make it look like I was drinking it. I just was not in the mood for it. I think total I had like 2 sips.
At one point the bartender brought 4 Tequila Shots over for me and my friends. He would not tell us who bought the shots all he would tell us is it was a ‘guy in a hat’. Guy in The Hat, whoever you are, thank you for the shots. Nothing to boost your confidence then to have a random stranger send shots your way.
Now I can not tell you the last time I took a shot, I tend to stay away from the situations, but in the spirit of getting caught up in old times I decided to partake in the shot taking.
as you can see I am very out of practice… Yuck!
After a long night, I was very surprised to be able to wake up so easily this morning. When my alarm went off at 8:00am, my sister and I got up, got dressed and headed for our long run. We ran all the way to downtown Tallahassee and then came back through campus. We only walked for a minute after I rolled my ankle on a gutter ledge. I fell to the ground and scraped my knees up pretty good, but after a few walking steps my ankle felt fine and I was ready to go.
My Sister ended up cutting back to her apartment early and ditched me for the last mile or so. I ran by my old apartment and through some old hills I remember struggling when I tried to run them a couple of years. This time around I did not even break my pace going through them. It was wonderful.
Morning Stats:
Distance: 7.83 Miles
Time: 1:14:32
When I made it back to the apartment my sister and I got straight to work at making breakfast.
We made Whole Wheat Strawberry Blueberry Pancakes.
I ended up microwaving a few frozen strawberries for a minute and then squishing them up in a tiny bowl. I think I just discovered how to make Strawberry Syrup, it was awesome!
FSU is playing Boston College today but the game is not unil 8:00 so we have plenty of time to kill. My plans are still up in the air so it will be interesting to see how the day turns out.
Have a great Saturday everyone!

Wow – what an awesome run this morning! How many days a week do you run? And are you on a particular schedule or training for an upcoming race? Just curious – I apologize if this is elsewhere on the blog, and I didn’t see it.

Adrianna – I have the IPOD Nike gadget, but tis not accurate at all. I usually use Mapmyrun.com to may my run out before I leave and plan a distance that way.
Rose – I run about 5 days a week. I am not on a particular training schedule but I do have my half marathon coming up. I try to split runns up and do short ones during the week and longer ones on the weekend. I also try to do boot camp work outs adn work out videos to get my strength up.
Where did you get that adorable tank top- the black and gray one??? SO CUTE.
