I voted today for the first time at my actual polling site. No absentee ballot for me this year, I was there live and in person to witness all the action. Ok well there was not really any action, I just went in my little box and did my thing, but I still felt like a real live grown up! I remember going to with my mom to vote when I was little and standing beside her as she made her decisions. It feels so strange to be in the little booth all by myself, making my own decisions.
My little brother voted for the first time today. He was so proud of his sticker. π This is the first presidential election all 6 members of my immediate family have voted in. π
Now it is just a wait and see game to see who the winner will be. Unfortunately I am not going to be able to stay awake to see the declaration as soon as it happens, but it’s nice to know I will wake up in the morning to a new Presidential Elect. At least I hope they will have the decision finalized by then, I am not sure our country can handle another 2000 fiasco. Those damn Floridians screwing everything up. (sarcasm)
On the flip side of voting I had a fabulous rest of my day. I was able to leave work around 3:00 and made it to my parentβs neck of the woods in record time. On my way over there I snacked on a Kashi Peanut Butter Granola Barin the car.
I ended up going to vote after 5:00 and there was amazingly no wait. I was in and out in under 5 minutes and saw two people I knew at the polling place. My parents live in a very small town.
Since I was going to be at my parents for dinner I told my Dad to make something yummy. My Mom is currently out of town, and my brother had already ate so it was just the two of us.
My Dad made me his famous Pork Roast (which he rubs with his own blend of seasonings and roasts in the over for 3 hours), steamed asparagus and small baked potatoes (which I topped with a tablespoon of gravy drippings). This meal was perfect and just what I was craving. My Dad is seriously a fabulous cook and I miss his food.
On my way back to Orlando I stopped at my favorite yogurt place for a tart frozen yogurt.
I got a small Strawberry Tart Yogurt with granola, strawberries and blueberries. I was trying to go for the patriotic theme I missed at breakfast.
Now I am currently at Caitlin’s blogging away on her laptop as we watch the Presidential results unfold. This is sooo exciting! I can’t stay to the finish, but I am hoping to at least see a candidate pull out ahead and take the lead.
Good Night Everyone!
That yogurt is so perfectly swirled!!

The yogurt is from a place in Waterford Lakes Called Sweet! http://www.sweetbyholly.com/ They have the best tart frozen yogurt and they have amazing cupcakes!
You and your brother are SO cute with your stickers. I was definitely really proud too, and took a picture… and posted about it, haha! It’s way more fun to actually go out to the polls. In fact, I think I could have done an absentee but I opted to reregister instead!
Dinner with your dad sounds ideal- as well as that sweet (well, tart!) treat after.

I love that place! Unfortunately I moved from Orlando after it had barely been open. π Did you know that if you go to the Sweet website you can join the sweet treat club and they’ll email you a coupon you can print for either a free cupcake or a free tart frozen yogurt (with a couple toppings too). Haha I did it w/ a couple different emails I had, never actually paid when I went! π
