Sorry I was not able to get a lunch post up today. I ended up returning from Jacksonville around 3:00 pm and since I had been out of the office on Friday, my e-mail was full and needed some TLC. Luckily I was able to get it all under control before I left the office at 4:30.
The trip to Jacksonville was fun. The car ride was not that bad, besides being the one in the middle seat, I guess being the newbie does have its disadvantages some times. I did spend the whole time drooling over our PR rep’s IPhone. I never really had an interest in one before, but we had a mini crisis on the way back that was averted thanks to the handy iphone. She was checking her e-mail the whole trip and got a lot of work done. (so jealous!) It would have also been useful to have one to catch up on all my blog reading on the trip.
Once we arrived at our destination, I quickly ate a Mini Pecan Pie Larabar to hold me over.
It was nice going to an actual client site and seeing how they really enjoy our product and how it works in their day to day activities. It makes me feel like my job really matters. We met with a few people, did some interviews, took some photos and were on our merry way. We ended up going to Harry’s for lunch. Harry’s are these great New Orleans style restaurants spread through out Florida. I’ve ate at the one in Tallahassee, Gainesville and now St. Augustine. They had an open patio we sat at for lunch, which with the wonderful weather we have been having was perfect.
I ordered the Shrimp Creole.
Had had some bread on the side for dipping.
I was really nervous taking pictures of my food in front of my co-workers, but decided to be brave and just went for it. My Boss’s Boss did mention something when I pulled my camera out about him wanted to take a picture of me with my food, but I just laughed and he got distracted so nothing else was said about it.
Everything I have ever ordered from Harry’s has been great and this meal was no exception. I loved that they had ‘lunch portions’ so it wasn’t a huge serving. I enjoyed every bite and you should be happy to know that the company did end up paying for my meal. Score!
I have been very lazy since I got off of work. I feel like I had been go – go-go all weekend and then again today so I needed to take a moment and just chill out in front of the TV.
I did manage to get off of my lazy butt to throw together a pretty great dinner though. Since it’s starting to get a little chilly outside (our low tonight is 45!) I was in the mood for some winter comfort food. After perusing my recipe library I decided to recreate Kath’s Oatmeal Chili.
I followed her recipe with a couple of tweaks. I used 1/2 pound of ground chicken breast, added onion ( Sorry, Kath but you can’t have chili with out onions!) and 4 oz of tomato sauce. I topped my chili with raw onion, reduced fat jalepeno cheese & Non Fat Plain Yogurt.
On the side I had a Whole Wheat Potato Roll.
I would say this dish was a very filling winner! YUM! and I have PLENTY of leftover to last me a long while.
For dessert I had two Publix Cookies I may have stole from tail gating on Saturday.
That’s a Chocolate Chip and Sugar cookie. Seriously these cookies are melt in your mouth delicious. Worth every calorie!
Now I am stuffed and am on a mission to try to figure out where to store all of this left over chili!?!?!? Have a great night everyone!
