After a great weekend of football and family, I am now back home with Abbie at my side. She spent the whole weekend with her Uncle Scooby, but I think she was getting worn out and ready to go home. She is glued to my side and happy to have me back.
The trip back was rather uneventful, but felt like it took longer then it had getting up there. We didn’t make it back to my parent’s until after 6 and then I still had another 45 minutes drive back to my apartment. 🙁 It was worth it though.
Once we got on the road I munched on a pre-portioned 1/4 cup of Pumpkin Spice Trail Mix.
We stopped in Gainesville for lunch on the way back. It really is the perfect halfway point and they have plenty of good eats right near the interstate. This time around we stopped at another family favorite, Dragonfly Rolls & Bowls. It’s kind of a fast food sushi place, where they put everything together right in front of you.
I ordered the Mini Vegetable Bowl with Tempah & Brown Rice.
I have always wanted to try tempah, so when I saw it on the menu I jumped on the chance. It wasn’t until after I ordered it that I realized it said ‘fried tempah’ oh well I still wanted to give it a try. My verdict? It was great! Of course it was ‘fried’ and I’m pretty sure if you fry anything it’s going to be awesome. 🙂
I asked for the teriyaki sauce on the side for some for some fork dipping action.
I also ordered a plate of Steam Vegetable Dumplings for the family to share.
Steam dumplings are a big favorite of mine so I had two of these babies.
After our lunch we walked across the parking lot to the new Asian Food Market in the complex. My Dad and I are huge fans of ethic food stores so when ever we see one we jump at a chance to go in one to see what goodies we can find.
We ended up purchasing these chocolate covered sticks that are always a required buy when we visit asian food markets.
I had two on the walk back to the car.
That’s my sister’s boyfriend and Dad in the background.
I also picked up this Wild Sweet Rice that looked like fun.
Mi, you will have to help me do something creative with this. 🙂
There was also an unplanned stop at a Steak and Shake on the way home, but I resisted ordering a shake myself. Trust me it was hard to resist and I did hesitate when prompted. Luckily they all ordered chocolate shakes (not my favorite) and I quickly fell back to sleep as they all slurped away.
On the drive from my Parent’s house to my apartment I ate this Honey Crisp Apple.
I happily snuck this into the cart when we were grocery shopping for my sister. These apples are a little pricey to buy on my own, but I have no problem having my parents treat me to the best apple in the world.
By the time I made it back to my apartment and made a much needed trip to Publix, I was exhausted and in no mood to be creative with dinner so I went for quick and easy and popped an Amy’s Frozen Pizza in the oven.
I did manage to throw a small salad on the side.
My Salad consisted of spinach, tomato, cucumber, carrots and Orange Poppyseed Dressing.
Thank you everyone for all of your great comments you left on my morning post. My sister had a great response that I wanted to share with everyone:
Thanks for all the shout-outs and encouragement! I never could have ran that 6 miles without Meghann pushing me along. I felt great when we finished. I am proud to relinquish me title as the ‘runner’ of the family. Meghann has definitely earned it. I do love to run and I need a goal to push me to get out there even more. I’ll think about the 10K but I’m not promising anything. :-)”
Now I am trying diligently to catch up on all of my blog friends online. I see I was given a couple of awards while I was away that I will have to post on tomorrow. Right now I need to prepare for the upcoming week. Good night everyone!!
