After last night’s festivities, I wasn’t quite as excited for this morning’s run as I was yesterday. I had to drag myself out of bed, in the end I knew it would be worth it to get myself out there. I also told myself that I did not have to do the original distance I planned, if I wanted to stop, or you know.. needed to throw up…then that was perfectly fine.
Before my run I knew I needed some fuel, so I had a whole grain english muffin with almond butter and low sugar strawberry jam.
My original plan this morning was to head out to Blue Jacket Park. I saw Caitlin run the park a while back and it looked so pretty, I knew I had to try it. She warned me that there was zero shade at the park, but I figured if I went early enough it wouldn’t be so bad.
Let’s just say once I got to the park I was so glad I made the extra effort to get up this morning. It was a gorgeous area! The park is right smack in the middle of Baldwin Park, which has a cute ‘Truman Show’ atmosphere to it. The Park actually came right up to Lake Baldwin and I saw a bunch of people on that trail so I left the park to see how far the path around the Lake would take me. The Lake is a decent size around so I was pretty sure the trail didn’t go all the way around, but sure enough it made a complete route.
Running by the lake was amazing, I felt so pumped and energized that I actually made two laps around the lake. I will definitely be running this trail again.
Today’s running stats:
Time: 1 hr 22 min 15 secs
Distance: 7.3 miles
After such a great run I knew I wanted something great to eat, so I made some wonderful whole wheat buttermilk waffles.
I just followed the directions from the back of the Hodgen Mills box and cut up a plum to add to the batter. The only piece of fruit left in my fridge was a plum so that’s what got added.
I had a little extra so I had some on top. This was a very satisfying meal after a great long run.

Glad you had a good run! Sounds like it was beautiful scenery!
Buttermilk waffles are the best! I had them for dinner on my bday
Those waffles look great! VEry impressive.. i don’t have a waffle maker because I am not sure how motivated I would be to make them… seems like a lot of work but looks well worth it
I like that english muffin plate. That’s a serious run. GOOD FOR YOU! You runners are incredible!
