A Very Orange Breakfast

by Meghann on September 18, 2008

I woke up this morning already pumped for running. Taking a day off for swimming yesterday really had me itching to take off in my running shoes. Once, again I did my normal route but added on an extra street. I like to make my runs a little bit longer as the week progresses, I think I get more energy the closer the weekend seems. Can you believe its Thursday already?

My Morning Run’s Stats:

Distance: 4.6 miles

Time: 52 min 19 secs (including 5 min cool down)

Calories Burned: 507 (errr… again according to mapmyrun.com…I really need an HRM)

This morning I was in a very orange mood for breakfast. I filled my bowl with a ½ cup of Kashi Autumn Wheat cereal and added ¾ cup of Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal (the last of my box L) I then cut up an orange and placed that on top of the cereal, being sure to drizzle all of the escaped juice on top of it as well. Last but not least, a couple spoonfuls of applesauce and a couple of red grapes for color.

This was a very tasty creation. For those of you scared to try oranges in your cereal mix, trust me it’s very refreshing. I actually discovered the great combination of oranges and Autumn Wheat cereal on accident. I had cut up an orange to have on the side of my cereal one morning and kept picking up a piece of orange on the same spoon I had the cereal, by the end I just dumped the oranges into the cereal and was very satisfied with the combination. I now believe any fruit will go well with cereal. J

Looks like its going to be a pretty slow and easy day at work today. No meetings, yay! I’ll see everyone for lunch.

Hey! Thanks for the comment on my blog! Do you go to school in Orlando? I went to UCF last year and wish I was still there now that I know all you bloggers live there!
