So before I dive to deep into this blog I wanted everyone to meet the one and only true love of my life. She has four legs, white fur and a wet nose, but I still love her to death. Her name is Abbie and she’s my one year old Jack Russel.
My ex-boyfriend and I were dog obsessed last September and were dying for a Jack Russell to welcome into out mini family. Well, lets just say when you are itching to get a dog, to worst place you possibly could go would be a pet store. We went “just to look” and an hour later came out with Abbie. I never regretted actually getting her, I just regret how much I paid for her. J
In the break up there was never a doubt that I would end up with Abbie, I stated from the beginning that I could never be a part from her. She makes everything in my life so much better. She has made a lot of the life changes I’m going through so much better.
She does have her scary moment though. Trust me, she’s not always perfect. Right after I moved into my new apartment in Orlando I decided to take Abbie down this trail right down the way from my house off of a very major road. As I was at the stop sign to pull out on to the eight lane major road (during rush hour) a teenager on a bike collided with my parked car and took my side mirror with him. I panicked and jumped out of the car. Naturally, Abbie followed me out and I grabbed her leash. She gets very excited around cars and was some how able to wiggle her way out of collar. All of a sudden I was holding a limp leash and Abbie was happily making her way across rush hour traffic. I dropped everything in my hands, left my car with the dumbfounded kid and took off after her. I chased Abbie across 8 lanes of traffic while, thankfully, busy commuters slowed down and managed not to hit us. I screamed like a crazy woman causing spectators to run from their apartments to see who was getting attacked. I made it to the other side out of breath and hyperventilating while Abbie smiled at me and happily laid her brave little butt in the grass. This was my most memorable experiences of first moving to Orlando and I owe it all to her.
People think I’m crazy for chasing after her, but as I said she is the love of my life and I would happily risk my life for hers.
